Honestly, I didn't think I would like Dural 1947 as the aroma while still in the shipping box was a strong sweet aroma. I felt once I opened the jar it would overwhelm me but that was not the case. I had never tried a kumquat before and did not know what to expect. The aroma is a strong orange, pineapple which I assume is the kumquat but I also pick up yuzu and jasmine. I would place the strength at least 8. Ariana and Evans's soap base is outstanding and the pre and post-shave slickness is top-notch. This will be my go-to summer scent. I should note that the shave soap aroma is stronger than the aftershave, at least in my case but with lifelong sinus issues YMMV. After showering and shaving, I went to the gym and a gent and a gal complimented me on the aroma of my aftershave so a plus as well.

The L'Occitane Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #452 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick M-2 Adjustable injector razor and the Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My second time using this Glacial Iceberg Island and I think it’s a WONDERFUL soap. The scent is lovely, it gives tons of super rich, slick, frigid lather, and like all Stirling soaps it makes your skin feel like it’s been born again. The Prep is so soothing as well as moisturizing, and the Snake Bite aftershave is another menthol atom bomb. Finally the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance was a perfect finish. I enjoyed this shave so much and three passes gave me a superb BBS result!

SE SOTD, Friday, June 21st 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2=23>, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining and finish QC + very nimble to work the beard. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain titian mild SS (5) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity in this razor. Top tier blade in 50mm blade length or AC type.
Soap : Yaqi " the Green" , very nice scent of something fresh and natural is what I enjoy the most + excellent lather qualities 2nd to none IMO.
Brush : Yaqi " Viper" 24mm boar bristle. Excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Excellent boar brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi "The Green" splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE with a Kai Captain Mild blade. (It does not get much better a shave for myself this morning.)
