Menthol Monday: A beautifully scented Grand Freeze! L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 12 Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB MSC Citrus Melody AS Splash Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick Bleu de Chanel Parfum Wow, if this setup doesn’t freeze your face off then nothing will - the Glacial Mango Sunrise is a bona fide menthol atom bomb with a gorgeous scent, the lather is sumptuous - so easy to work up, it has the signature Stirling slickness, the menthol sensation can freeze a polar bear’s butt off, and the postshave feeling is wonderful. The Stoffel balm from Bundubeard has a nice peppermint scent, it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing, and it gives a STRONG menthol effect. The Citrus Melody aftershave is an awesome creation from my brother Fernando in Johannesburg, South Africa and it smells amazing not to mention how frigid it is. Last but not least the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m good to go. Three passes gave me a beautiful BBS shave that was so much fun! Have a great week ahead - be well and stay safe! ASRazor shave, Monday, June 24th 2024 Razor : Ever Ready streamline 2nd Generation. Mfg 1949-53, well built to last and still works well 70 yrs later. I like to use a RIGS shim to smooth the shave because the razor was refined to use the Gem blades with thicker spine back before the modern blade was offered in the mid 50's + nice razor to use when blade uses are higher IMO. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning. Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (9) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle. Soap : Razorock XXX regular, very nice clean XXX scent with excellent lather qualities. One of my favorites! Brush :Yaqi "Moka Express" 26 mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very good hybrid test brush, one of my best synthetic brushes. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Razorock XXX splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Ever-Ready stream liner with a Gem coated blade. Have some great shaves!
Shave of the Week Starting 6/24/2024 Star 100 razor Suneko blade Stirling Synthetic brush VDH Fresh Eucalyptus SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Various A/S Decided to stick with the VDH shave soap again this week. It seems to be getting easier to lather and providing a better lather as well. The Star/Suneko is really nice, smooth/comfortable/effective and I think the Star razor is severely underrated. My face is happy. Now ge enjoy your day folks.
