    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave # 558
    Parker SRB
    Suneko 1/2 DE Blade (8)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Captain's Choice North SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 28.5 hrs.

    I was going to use a straight, but went with a shavette for this session. This was the 8th use on this blade and it's still going strong. I usually bin a DE blade after the 5th use, so this Suneko blade is an outlier to me. I think this blade will go beyond 10 uses. Anyway, I could have called this shave after 2 passes, but did 3 for an error-free BBS shave.

    I went with the Captain's Choice North set today because it has a nice, mild juniper scent and the lather is rich and creamy. Here is my lather:

    20240623_152515.jpg

    Did get a little alum feedback on my left lower neck, but that was it. Splashed on the aftershave and that nice matching aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.
  3. fine shave and pics Joe.sunekos have given me 10+ easy shaves.modern and easily purchased ,they are a great replacement for previous blades now unabtainable.:):eatdrink047:

  5. Nice shave Paul. Don't pay attention to the Video guys they are selling stuff...after all, right?

    Thanks Gary. The set came with a pack of 10 blades. Look sharp enough but a bit rusty. Not near the edges though. I will use one as a template to modify my current DE blades.
    You can just see the rust through the wrapper in June Haul pic I think.

  8. Too bad about the occasional blood letting John, as @Trigger says it happens
    The PR Get in a tube was a disappointment for me too. Advertised as working without leaving the tell tale white stiptic marks on the face. That part is true. But mine turned to thick unusable goop that wouldn't come out the tube after only 3 months. I guess it needs more regular use. Or like some of the superglues that only last for one use, you can keep them ziplocked for a while but that's too much trouble. Back the styptic and toilet paper then! :(

    Thanks Barry, the thing that surprised me was the very different angle of attack. I guess they work better with the original bullet hole blades. The ones I have that came with the set are a bit suspect looking after all these years.

    Lovely shave Joe, neat looking lather too.

    That's a classic looking set up Joe
  9. You have a valid point Chris...The Wardonia manufacturer/designer may have designed the razor exclusively to take the bullet hole blade design back in the day instead of a universal fit. Very much like Apple phones & computers only work with Apple software, one of the main reasons I personally like Android phones. You could search for some "old-new stock" Wardonia bullet hole blades, or simply adjust to a shaving angle that is suited better with a modern DE blade.

  13. Happy with my shave this morning, with Proraso. 0:50 at the Loading Dock. The soap felt real nice going on my face and neck. Clean and clear, although a little struggle down at Cactus Nation(neck). Zeroes across the board on cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots. 2 passes. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Good evening.

    Straight Razor Shave #557
    6/8 Ralf Aust
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Brush
    Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SC and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 27.5 hrs.

    20240624_193711.jpg

    Did a 3 passer for a close comfortable shave. Did hit the tip of the top of my ear, but the tiny wound disappeared with no trace from the alum. Usually hitting the ear gets quite bloody because it takes a while for it to stop. Luckily, the razor love tapped my ear so it wasn't a long drawn out thing.
    Anyway, I went with the Captain's Choice 45th Parallel Shave Cream and I find the scent is stronger than the hard soap version. Still, it makes a great lather as you can see below:

    20240624_194411.jpg

    The alum was mostly silent. Finished with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. Take care.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    (Face & Head Shave.)

    A wonderful performance from Parker Variant...The LEA shave stick providing a good acceptable slick lather and a great post shave with no drying out on my skin in between each pass leaving a good post shave feel.
    Despite no longer having any tallow, it does have lanolin, and all shaving soaps & creams that contain lanolin my mature skin loves.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Eclectic set up again, nice.
  20. 24 Jun 2024 (late post)

    Days growth = 1

    Prep = hot water prep
    Preshave = T&H No 10 gel
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Bay Rum
    Brush = Semogue OC cherry
    Bowl = coconut bowl
    Razor = Gillette Flare tip
    Blade = Big Ben (2)
    Passes = 3+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers,
    ASL = Pinaud VIBR

    Scent = Guerlain pour homme
    Score = 8 / 10

    Damage = None

    Thoughts = A bit disappointed with this razor/blade combo after yesterday. It took a lot of work and multiple strokes per pass to achieve shaved status. Hard work. Not an efficient combination, but happy to have survived unscathed

    Have a great day, one and all
