Well, you're right....the ones I listed of course weren't affected by Covid.

 

That's one of the problems with society today, IMHO. Newer is better in the eyes of the marketing departments everywhere. I'm living proof that older is often better. I'm the oldest guy at work (Ops Supervisor) and regularly outwork the younger gen that I try to get productivity out of.

 

Found 'em! I haven't shaved in the past couple of days as the move in continues unabated. Getting all of your possessions out of storage is a horrendous experience. When did we acquire all this stuff?!

However, I'm glad to say my Russian Steel collection is in great shape now that I've found it. This is a pic of the bulk buys, and under the Sharp Star and Voskhod displays are packs of 100. Here is the total by blade.

All are Mostochlegmash from Moscow except the Astras, which are Gillette from St. Petes.

Since I go 3 shaves and out on a blade, if I shave every day these will last 22.68 years. Slightly less if I use one per week on my head shaves. By that time I probably won't recognize myself in the mirror.

That's a whole lot of Russian steel.

Was the razor originally rhodium plated, or did you have it redone?

Hmm too right. Don't you love the New and Improved (insert whatever here). No! I want the Old Reliable Same as it always was. It if it is new and improved every year, what was the cr*p they sold us last year !
Especially Omo washing powder and computer software!

Nice collection, don't think many of those are still obtainable.
I have too many blades myself even as a newbie, the ones that don't agree with me get binned sooner

my own Flare tip is around 59.6 grams but not Rhodium of course

Question about the little Gillette shaving brush? anyone know if it's any good? I have access to one, but too pricey imho

Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream.
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Premium TTO.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Brut ASL with added menthols crystals./ Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

The is another inexpensive shaving cream that doesn't have much of a scent, but makes up for it's performance and post shave feel.

A comfortable close shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.
