Here my Shave of the Day (24.07.2024)


Razor: Blackland Blackbird // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: SV Felce Aromatica // Brush: Nightdiver´s // Aftershave: Alum - Dapper Dan Green

Another very fine shave is done.

The Blackbird performed well in 2 passes. Lathered up the wonderful smelling Felce Aromatica to a rich and very slick consistency so the Blackbird could glide effortlessly through the stubbles.

After rinsing my face i applied the Alum Block and „shocked“. No feedback…absolutely NOTHING. This is weird because i thought it would have bites to it. Good for me though. The Aftershave did the same. No stinging. Just the Menthol sensation and this heavenly scent (exactly like the original Skin Bracer).

A 10 out of 10

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the B-3 Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Red and Black OT by Tom and the Nacet Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Special Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor : Yaqi 2nd Generation Mellon 316 SSP head with a Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mid range. Very nice razor with a light touch and sharp blade does wonders for my shaving needs. It will bite if reckless or in a hurry seems when I get a weeper. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : GSB(4) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier blade.
Soap : Speick stick, very nice mild spicy scented triple milled soap with some of the best lather qualities I have used.
Brush : Yaqi "Red Zebra" 26mm snow leopard synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle spay scrubber + excellent lather generator. 26mm synthetic brushes rock IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis Lavender + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 1 weeper, operator error = Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon 316 SSP razor with a GSB (4) blade.
