Razor : Yaqi SLOPE 316 SS torsional slant with brass nickel coated handle. Mfg 2022> mild to tame mid range. Interesting design for a slant that seems to work well(sloped safety bar to match the machined base plate gap.) for my shaving needs. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp (2) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Yaqi "Black Pearl" nice mild fragrance with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ever helpful" 22mm 2 band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, some back bone for scrubbing + great lather painter. Good little scrubber because of shorter loft with a dense 2band real badger knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Black pearl splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SLOPE slant with a Perma-sharp blade.

The second shave with this new to me Chinese blade was a little less great than the first, with a few tiny red spots and a little more cleanup required.

It was however still pretty good and on par with most other blades I consider above average.

The change in soap may have contributed a little to this since Proraso, as convenient as it is, doesn’t provide the same great lather quality as Arko - at least in my opinion.

So, 3 more shaves left for me to get the verdict.

 

Aaaand, we look ahead to Throwback Thursday-my favorite day of the week. Here's my plan:

Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Fine 24mm Synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap. (no.3)
Blade: Treet Dura Sharp (Carbon) Blue pack. (D2)
Razor: 1960's Gillette Slim Twist.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./P&G Old Spice Whitewater ASL./Creightons Sensitive PSB.

Early morning shave,

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report from my much loved Gillette Slim Twist to finish my shaving week off on a high note.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.

The L'OCCITANE Cade Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #460 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM Contour Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
