Rare Gillette Techmatic ??

This is one I've never heard of. It just sold for $3,302, on eBay.

For a razor that rare - boxed - in that condition... the price seems OK.
Almost $3300 more than I'd be willing to pay, but I don't do DE.
A very nice piece of razor history though...

 

If I spent $3,302 on a razor for my collection I’d probably use it once and just put it on a shelf. If I spent $3,302 on a guitar for my collection I’d enjoy using it every day.

 

if i remember correctly,unused guitars don'r age well...unless maintained of course..

 

Yes, and even when used consistently they still need regular maintenance in order to remain functional.

 

I know the Techmatics that people are used to seeing, but, Mr Razor doesn't have this one on his site.

 

Yep, I missed it on his website. Looks like an attempt into injectors.

 

it was under "techs"..tricky to find.

 

Prelude? Injectors predate this razor by decades. A late and failed attempt by Gillette to jump onto the injector band wagon.

It is a pre production variant imho, sadly incomplete.

 

A double edge injector.
