    SRS # 1153

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Drew Dick 7/8” Half Hollow Damascus
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Malle Burl
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss
    Aftershave: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Wonderful three pass shave with my first custom straight. The shave was super smooth and close although I did get a delayed weeper on the right cheek.

The Ginger Garden soap produced a wonderful slick lather. The scent profile is as follows: “A crisp, clean and cool scent with a variety of mints on a freshly fallen snow with a whisper of vanilla.”

I hope you all had a great day gentlemen.

  9. Thanks Joe. I am glad that I learned early on that a soft touch is important otherwise I will have to learn how to paint in canvass. Lol!

  10. August 22 SOTA Headshave

    Good evening.

    Mühle R102
    Voskhod DE Blade (fresh)
    Hembree/Maggard Timberwolf Synthetic Brush
Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Dome Turf: 3 days

    20240822_204624.jpg

I didn't want to wait for tomorrow to do a headshave because I am trying to break my recent habit of going every 4th day. Hopefully with tonight's headshave, I will be back to my normal schedule. I went with the aggressive R102 loaded with a fresh Voskhod blade. I was going to use a Feather blade, but I will postpone it until I have 4 days of dome turf and I intend for that to happen some time in the distant future. Lol!

Went with Captain's Choice 45th Parallel hard soap and it gave me a nice lather. Here it is:

Did get some medium alum feedback on some parts of my dome, but I got a nice smooth result without any drama. I must say that the blade was a little rough, but I am sure that it will have toned down by the next use. Witch hazel and the wonderful matching aftershave were applied to finish this session. Tomorrow will be a straight shave in the morning. Take care.
