The L'OCCITANE Cade Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #460 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1907 Gem Jr. Lather Catcher Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor : Micromatic Clog Pruf(Peerless 17 nib SB variant) solid brass. Mfg 1945, mid range. Excellent design and workmanship with a rack & pinion blade clamping tightening system. From my limited research millions of the 3 main Micromatic variants(MMOC, MMCP & MMBT variants) that where manufactured over their lifetimes.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(8) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock XXX Fresco, nice mentholated XXX clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka express" 26mm timberwolf synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. 26mm synthetics rocks for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX Fresco with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Micromatic Clog Pruf (Peerless variant) with a coated Gem blade.

The Arko Stick Soap lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Razor and the Henckels Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday Shave, August 25th 2024

Razor : Ever-ready Streamline 2nd generation. Mfg 1949-53, mid range to upper mid range. Very well built razor for its time with stamping and machining. Interesting looking razor with blade forward feel and blade stops are small and close to front of safety bar base plate. I use a RIGS shim under the spine of new blade to smooth out the shave like the older thicker spine of the past. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (9) Very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice mild scented lavender + excellent lather qualities. One of my favorite soaps.
Brush : Yaqi "Viper" 24mm boar bristle. Excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever Ready streamline SE razor with a coated Gem blade.

MMMonday, August 26th 2024

Razor : MicroMatic OC buttonless. Mfg 1930-32, mid range to upper mid range. First Micromatics built for the new double edge blades were introduced(New Gem Micromatic DE blades came out in 1933 approximately.) Built to last generations with excellent stamping and machining know how, blade is tightened with a rack and pinion design. Had a close and comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (10) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice mild scented bright lavender with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi"Dandelion" 24mm cashmere knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very nice overall brush in my hand to work the beard, nice handle.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavada splash with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Micromatic buttonless razor with a coated Gem blade.
