Time for a Vintage Gillette this morning, Satsuma, Schick, Semogue, Fine Latigo and the I4 Slim of course

 

awesome slim shave Chris.still enjoying the schick blade i see..i.ve got at least 10 shaves on 1 schick blade,in my aristocrat,just starting to feel a bit less on the final pass but still really smooth.i take out spoilers at 10 when most get alot more..

My newly found love affair with post-war Tech continues. Paired with a Perma-sharp, it shines. The shaves are smooth and close and extremely comfortable.

Is this due to the change in my technique, or just finding the right blade ? Well, I should find out tomorrow as I load a different blade in it.

This if the fifth day this week using this razor/blade combination. It weighs in at 2.1 oz with the blade and has a very nice feel in the hand. The razor is 110 years old and the blade is 62 years old. They have been absolutely marvelous shaves.

The 72 year old carbon blade continues to perform very well on its third shave, maintaining both its smoothness and sharpness.

Paired with the razor that was most likely made at least 83 years ago, it produced a very close yet comfortable shave, right there with the best shaves I ever had using modern blades and razors.

 

very impressive @Jayaruh cool looking razor, will you take the blade to more than 5 days?

I will definitely take to more than five days. It is still plenty sharp. I may even strop it with my Twinplex stropper.

I am continuing this week with the Gillette Super Blue Blade from 1952. Today is the sixth shave with it. As long as it is shaving good, I will use it. Then I will strop it with my Twinplex Stropper. Here we go with the 72 year old blade and the 119 year old razor.

The PSC Caffeinated Shaving Cream lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1905 Gillette Double Ring Razor and the Gillette Super Blue Blade X3 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
