  6. Thanks Gary. I haven't decided if I will only perform a headshave for tomorrow. More than likely, that's what it will be with a shavette shave Monday morning.

    Greetings,

    Relaxing Sunday Morning Shave.

    the Goodfellas' Smile Abysso Shaving Soap & ASL duo which provided me with another exceptional shave the lathering performance of the shaving soap is superb providing a great slick protective wonderfully scented lather in a short space of time. The matching ASL finished the shave off excellently.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

    My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen. :cool:
  9. Thanks Gary, didn't like the Lime Sec when I first got it, but it kinda grows on you

    ! 10 shaves is good, tempted but I have too many already !

    Agreed they do feel a bit rough, but they do the job, trying to finish them off

    Another superby Max shavel. Question, if you don't hone your razors often, is that a skill you lose after time?

    Thanks Joe, I will add them to me maybe one day list, samples seem like a good idea. Just need to put a package together to justify the shipping

    Great shave Joe, nice to see more Schicks appearing in Sept.

    Slant razor, Sterling soap, Satsuma, Sandalwood

    15 Sep 2024 BW.jpg

    1 Day growth

    Usual Prep and Preshave = Faulding’s shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Satsuma
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Fatip Lo Storto
    Blade = Shark Super Stainless (2)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = Pinaud Lime Sec
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood EdT
    Score = 9 / 10
    Damage = minor weeper right lower neck over a skin blemish

    Plan: the Plan was for a Single Pass only….

    Failed: just had to go again :D

    The Open Comb slant and the Shark were pretty efficient, needing a very light hand and super thin lather to avoid any pressure. Fairly smooth putting green after the first pass, but the rough needed some more attention….

    Nice and smooth and lightly scented for spring Sunday, hope yours started as well or better
  11. Agreed. For scrutiny at business meeting distances, one pass has me looking well-groomed. Probably true for most guys. For more intimate distances with someone important - "dancing cheek to cheek", etc. - an extra pass or two ensures a little extra smoothness, removing any "sandpaper" effect.

    And apart from that, when I have the extra time, wetshaving is a very soothing and pampering "just for me" ritual. It's also a good way to slow down and decompress a bit - almost a little slice of meditation without the incense, chants and lotus position.

  12. Fabulous way to start Sunday off with a "failure", Chris!

    Now remember, the traditional rule is: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." That saying almost requires you to do three passes, doesn't it? :)

  20. Lol! very few business meetings anymore, no such luck. I agree, the shave is for me. In winter I prefer turtle neck jumpers to keep warm so the neck has to be smooth to avoid sandpapering the collar. The ritual is great, too!
    But I will try and be less OCD now that spring is in the air and aim for one pass every now and again. On the other hand, why waste the lather? On the other hand I could make less lather. But yet again I am trying finish this Satsuma, it seems to grow overnight....

    If at first you don't succeed, maybe you 'aint trying 'ard 'enough! On the other hand, softly softly cathee monkey, if I don't scalp myself I get to shave again another day Lol!

    My perfectionism will win out most days I am afraid, John, the rest is all just excuses ;)
