    SRS # 1170

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Genco - Getico 5/8”
    Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
    Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Aftershave: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Maggards Alum
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

    Outstanding Sunday morning shave that has resulted in super smoothness. Looking good for a visit with the cousins in Clearwater this afternoon.

    Naturally, although not really needed, I went with my customary thing pass shave. I easily would have been satisfied with just two passes with this razor. Why break traditiona?

    Hope you all are enjoying this last Sunday of Summer. @ChrisB - Winter

  3. The scent is excellent. It's Good fellas take on Davidoff Cool Water both the soap & splash linger for a good while. Cool Water is old school favourite scent of mine, which I like to wear whatever the season of the year.

    Good afternoon.

    I did an errorless 3 pass headshave for a dolphin smooth result. However, I did do some touchups due to the mild Heritage Razor.
    Here's my lather:

    Had minimal alum feedback. Finished with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave treatment. Take care.

  19. Actually the Alum can be quite refreshing I find, but does let you know where you have dug a bit too deep

    Thanks Joe

    Thanks Joe, again

    There you go, live and learn, I know about stones but not lapping films. I used to sharpen my chisels and plane blades etc on glass with wet and dry sanding paper, but it was a bit messy. Burrs and all, but I guess you don't want the burs on the edges of the straights

    Thanks Joe

    Really classic brush Joe, nice Bay Rum shave

    Thanks Gary

    Sample soap, Sterling soap, Slim, Shark
    Spring
    is here so I decided to have a cold water shave and bring out the MITA

    16a Sep 2024.jpg

    1 Days growth

    Cold Water Prep and Preshave = Faulding’s shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Margaritas in the arctic
    Brush = 10049
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Slim I4 &7
    Blade = Shark Super Stainless (3), binned because it was getting a bit of a drag
    Passes = 1 ½
    Post = Usual Cold water rinse, face wash with left over lather, rinse. No Alum. No Thayers needed
    ASL = Pinaud Lime Sec
    Scent = Prada Blue Ocean
    Score = 9 / 10
    Damage = none

    Was expecting the MITA to be a bit more of a tear jerker, but found it surprisingly pleasant. It’s a good enough skin toner to not need the Alum or the Thayers. It lathered up superbly and provided a nice slick protection. It was just the Shark blade that let the side down somewhat, hence it was promoted to the One Blade bin

    The first pass was pretty good on the fairways and on the putting green, but the rough stuff still needed some touching up, making this a 1 ½ pass shave. It can be done! Good enough for a work from home day

    Have a super Monday one and all
