not sure to be honest.most of my current 7 razor rotation have either suneko, schick or spoiler blades in them at present...and i have been crap at keeping track of which, when and how many per.but i don't recall my amount of shaves being reduced by which products i use with them.i use a different soap/cream daily.very rare i use anything twice in a row,,including razors/brushes, and splashes..
Like yourself Gary, I'm pretty much stuck on 6 or so razors and my blade selection is primarily Spoiler era, Persona Meds, Feather, and now Suneko, which is a new kid on the block. My soaps and creams are primarily of the expensive kind and as always Proraso sensitive mixed in. Alum block always following shave, and after shower my face prep consists of mainly Saponificio Varesino shave lotions and I can't get beyond 3 or so after shave scents and colognes. Boring? TOBS Sandalwood is my main squeeze, along with some Fine scents, Truefit & Hill Mayfair cologne is absolutely pure class. I own many and use few, Oh, and I almost forgot about some 50's era Old Spice that smells like candy, just as I remember it to be and it still does. Other than this, I shave most everyday and to my knowledge, I smell just like I want to. As much as I enjoy reading about the various shaves and the number of shaves being performed by a single blade? I lose track of time, I lose interest and forget where or how to keep track of or how to keep account of what my shaves numbers are. Every Single One, Every Single Razor I own, ALL shave differently and with different results. And believe it or not, every single soap I use and creams all result in different shaves with all of those different razors. NOW, try and keep track of that? Oh, and did I tell you that maybe ( 1 ) time out of ( 100 ) do I get the "almost" perfect shave? In my narrow opinion do I believe there is anything, anywhere near the perfect shave. Most all of my shave are great, few are excellent and none are perfect. Sleep well my friends.
Do any here believe that my in search of the perfect shave ends here? Not in your wildest dreams. Ya'll have turned me on to the Suneko, and now what might be your new 'kid on the block'? Yo?
i am looking for more sealed tucks of schick super stainless, they are really smooth and sharp.out of the box they are smoother than a spoiler..,not that the spoilers are bad,but gillette had some ground to cover when the schick blades came out,..liking the brit super silvers as well.i have tons of modern platinums and such, but enjoying the vintage while they're around..
At present, I'm using Suneko and a Spoiler of sorts (single blade double wrapped in cartons of 20) and so far they appear to produce the same results and somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 shaves each so far. The moment a nick or scrape happens/appears, I change out blades. I probably have 6 or so razors loaded with one or the other so.... Keeping track is a chore.
Another one bites the dust: The Asco Super Stainless. After a very nice first shave, the Asco pulled and tugged something terrible on its second outing in the Slim. On a lark, I loaded the blade into my brand new Baili 176T...ahh, now that's much better! I was able to complete that shave plus another with the Baili. At the end of the third shave, the blade had become ineffective at mowing down whiskers. The scoreboard: 12 good shaves: Tatra Platinum 7 good shaves: Astra Superior Platinum 3 good shaves: Asco Super Stainless; Astra Superior Stainless Up next: Baili Super Stainless - BiC Chrome Platinum - Big Ben Super Stainless
Just retired: This Big Ben Super Stainless blade--finally spent after 20 great shaves. All I can say is: WOW! This bargain-basement blade proves that quality needn't cost much. Shaves were supremely comfortable and fault-free from the very first swipe to almost the very end of the 20th shave. No cuts, weepers, or irritation of any kind, ever. Just blissful, smooth, carefree shaving...the way it's supposed to be. The scoreboard: 20 good shaves: Big Ben Super Stainless 12 good shaves: Tatra Platinum 7 good shaves: Astra Superior Platinum 6 good shaves: BiC Chrome Platinum 4 good shaves: Baili Super Stainless 3 good shaves: Asco Super Stainless; Astra Superior Stainless Next up: We'll see in Spring 2025 when I resume full-face shaving. I'm growing my beard out for the winter.

Back in the day I don't remember shaving with any Schick blades you're talking about. It seems they were always hard for me to find. And back then I could always find the Spoilers but the prices beat the crap out of that for me. Back then is was shaving on Friday & Saturday nights only and then a blade lasted me for no less than several months. Never took the blade out unless it bit you. p.s. I don't remember what razor I had but it was more than likely some slim adjustable or a flare tip of sorts. Razors and shaves weren't on my mind at the time.
these are the ones i am using..i was gifted a 10 pack some time ago, never tried them until recently .probably early 70s era ...they are really good.i can see why gillette panicked..these came out before gillette stainless did..
ok.thought they were more common here..the first few shaves were spoiler++,like super smooth..most likely a European mainstay during the 60s..they came out before gillette in /around '61 i believe..or so i have read..
Heck, for the matter, I don't know where a guy could score a 100 or so of them Schick= Spoiler ++ blades at? Do you? .
just picked up a 100 box of these KCG off amazon...they are pretty good actually.on my 3rd shave with one and it feels really good.
