  9. Following your sage advice, I just set the razor stand in a mirrorless corner of the sink with the razor facing the dark wall. That'll teach it!

    Uhmmm. Any idea how long a "time out" I should give it for proper shaving discipline?

    Sample Sterling Satsuma, SE Gem G-bar,

    1 Day growth

    Hot water Prep 3 x 30 seconds soak, proper pret this time
    Preshave = Fauldings shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Satsuma
    Brush = Omega boar 10049
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gem G-bar SE
    Blade = GEM (4) SE blade is starting to drag
    Passes = 2 plus touch ups as needed
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = Fine Latigo
    Scent = Red Musk Oud to the pulse points
    Score = 9.9 / 10
    Damage = none, alum was silent, super smooth start to the day

    The GEM Blade started to drag a bit, I will bin this, no need to push things
    Nice razor, none of my SE razors have blade overhang, this one is nice and safe too
    Getting to grips with the curved tip of the G-bar handle, I am finding that the best way to deal with this is to tuck this in between the ring and little finger for a more secure grip and to provide some torque where needed, especially when going South to North in the neck and below the jaw line. Shaving S-N means the weight of the razor is not holding the blade in contact, so that bit of extra pressure does the job nicely

    Have a super Wednesday one and all

  13. Real good exceptional goo shave this morning. The challenge with goo shaves has been focusing on North Porcupine(area above upper lip). Had t0 do a little extra "up there", but got it done. Great everywhere else. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. One pass. Nice finish from the Clubman Original A.S. Clubman Country Club shampoo in the shower and Clubman Hair Gel prior to the shave. Doc Pinaud would be proud. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good morning.

    Shavette Shave #577
    Parker SRS
    Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp 1/2 DE Blade (fresh)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Soap Commander Vision SS sample
    TSD Irish Spring SS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 47 hrs

    20240925_092512.jpg

    Had just slightly under a 2 day stubble that needed to be shaved. Picked out my Parker Stainless Steel shavette with a brand new Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp DE Blade to tackle the job. Honestly, I could have called it quite after 2 passes, but you know that I usually make 3 passes. Had an error-free super BBS result. The Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp really impressed me with it being sharp, but smooth. I have used these blades in my DE razors and felt that they were not as smooth. Maybe I should try these blades in a DE razor to see if I feel the same way. In any event, this blade worked very will in my Parker SRS.
    Picked the Soap Commander Vision given to me by Joe C. @JACarbone. Thanks Joe. It is a gives a creamy, slick lather that was needed for this morning’s shave. Here's my lather:

    I had some alum feedback on my right neck, but didn't get it anywhere else. Splashed on the witch hazel and the TSD Irish Spring aftershave to finish this shave. Under my old raring system, this shave was an A+. Take care.

    SRS # 1176

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Taylor Eyewitness 1000
    Brush: Leo Frilot ECWS 2018 Ghost Trails
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Aftershave: FreyjasMagic Thor’s Hammer Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    Today should have been a shave with my TI Super Gnome straight as it always receives the honor of the SRS that are multiples of 25. The razor is given that honor for the distinction of being my first straight razor. Unfortunately, I did not notice the number count until after my shave. Therefore, the TI will make an appearance for my next straight razor shave.

    My usual three pass shave resulted in a rewarding super smooth and error free shave. I am looking and smelling good this morning. Hope you all have a fabulous day.
