Guys, you really need to be able to handle strong menthol if you plan to use this Glacial Frozen Tuxedo or any other Glacial soap and aftershave because what I used this morning is frigging INTENSE. The scent is so gorgeous, the soap lathers like a maniac, the menthol sensation clobbers your face, and the postshave care is superb. The Gold Bond moisturizer and the Glacial Frozen Tuxedo aftershave were a perfect finish. Three delightful passes gave me a most enjoyable BBS shave!

MMMonday, OCtober 14th 2024

Razor : Gem Micromatic OC (bumpless variant)+ all brass. Mfg 1930-32, mid range to upper mid range. Really nice shave this morning using the (Rigs shim) to mock the thicker blade splines prior to 1932 Gem blades to help smooth out the shave.
Blade : Gem personna SS PTFE(9) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Lavender(obsolete), very nice lavender scent with excellent lather qualities
Brush : Yaqi"Bali" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. It sure bloomed on 1st cleaning and just put a smile on my face when I saw this transform(it is how they pack tie the knot to bloom(chubby looking), works well for my shave needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=(Aum tested) Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Gem Micromatic OC(bumpless) with a coated Gem blade.

I think I have the Colonial CR7 figured out cuz today's shave was pretty darn nice. Also decided to try out some Stirling samples so I can explore different scents. Stirling Soaps are really very nice and I got a great lather. The scent, or lack thereof, was a bit disappointing but the performance was great. So, all in all, a nice start to the week. My face is content. Now go enjoy your day folks

Lather: Erasmic Shave Cream.

Early Morning shave.

Out of all my parker DE razors the 24C took more than a fair few shaves for me to bond with it. However, once I adjusted to using a steeper angle, which parker razors require IMHO, it rewarded me with close efficient shaves...Some razors take a while before you bond with them, the 24C was the one for me.

The Erasmic shave cream produced a great lather in a short space of time, with a great post shave feel.

Another close comfortable face & head shave.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.

Pre-shave = Proraso cream Aloe and Vit E
Soap = Proraso green (menthol)
Brush = Omega Black Hi-Brush synthetic
Razor = Gillette OC so called 102 from around 1912. Wrong case, but I give that away last yearBlade = Gillette Platinum (2)
ASL = decided to complete the Proraso triple with the green Rinfrescante

I had a happy birthday shave this morning with my 47 No-notch Gillette Super Speed with a Gillette Super Blue Blade X3 (16). The Tabac lathered well with my Jayaruh #47 Synthetic brush. I did two passes and topped it off with Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Also, I am 77 years old.
