Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Bic day 12 Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Noble Otter Northern Elixir AS Splash Givenchy Pour Homme EdT This Glacial Mango Sunrise is one of the newer Glacial which Rod released this past summer and I absolutely LOVE it. The scent is unbelievably beautiful - along with the mango there’s a creamy and slightly musky note, its beef tallow formula promotes such amazing lather that’s so easy to whip up, like EVERY Stirling soap the slickness is superb, the menthol sensation is mega potent, and the skincare is A1. The Gold Bond moisturizer is also very mentholated, and the Northern Elixir has a nice eucalyptus/pepperminty scent - it also freezes like hell. Jaco’s Kameelperd’s Kick soap is a menthol atom bomb with such a lovely coffee/peppermint scent, the lather is awesome, and it’s so easy on my skin. The Stoffel balm is so moisturizing as well as soothing, and I love its peppermint scent not to mention how frigid it is. Finally the Northern Elixir aftershave put another coating of icicles in my face along with its eucalyptus/peppermint scent that I love. What a shave this was - wowzer!!!!! Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Bic day 5 Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island AS Splash Holy Toledo, I pity anyone who can’t handle such intense menthol because this Glacial Iceberg Island soap and aftershave are BLOODY COLD. The scent is gorgeous - it’s just about an exact copy of the Virgin Island Water fragrance from Creed, the soap lathers magnificently, it’s got the typical Stirling slickness, and the postshave care is perfect. The Stoffel balm is another menthol atom bomb with such a nice peppermint scent as well as lots of soothing and moisturizing. Finally the Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave added another coating of icicles into my face along with its lovely scent that has great staying power. What a delightful three pass BBS shave this was! The Stoffel balm from Bundubeard has a wonderful peppermint scent, it’s icy cold, and it’s so soothing. Menthol Monday: Not a Grand Freeze but still quite chilly… Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Bic day 5 PAA Cold Spices SS Lubriderm Moisturizer PAA Cold Spices AS Splash To be very honest I think I’m getting a bit fed up with this Cold Spices soap and aftershave because even though the scent is very close to the Shulton Old Spice scent, the menthol blurs it a little. The soap is extremely thirsty so it needs a LOT of water to get the lather where you want it, the menthol sensation is not overwhelming but it’s still very detectable, and the postshave feeling is ok. The Lubriderm moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Cold Spices aftershave went on with a good kick but it doesn’t smell completely like the Shulton Old Spice. Menthol Monday: L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Bic day 12 Captain Nemo Blend 47 SS Captain Nemo Blend 47 ASB Calvin Klein Obsession For Men EdT Not the coldest setup but still cold enough to satisfy my menthol craving. My dear brother Abir in Kolkata, India is the owner of Captain Nemo Shaving Supplies and he produces GREAT soaps and aftershaves. This Blend 47 has a very nice eucalyptus scent - even nicer than Proraso Green, the soap is vegan based with excellent lather that’s very slick, the menthol sensation is at a good middle of the road level, and it’s very skin friendly. The matching balm is really cold but not to an overwhelming point and it’s very moisturizing as well as soothing. Finally a little of the Obsession fragrance and that’s it, that’s all. Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Wilkinson Sword/Wilkinson day 6 Stirling Glacial Electric Sheep SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Floid Vigoroso AS Splash It’s been quite a while since I used a Glacial soap so I chose the Electric Sheep this morning and I’m so happy that I did. Wow, did it ever freeze my face to smithereens - the scent is so awesome, (to me!) it lathered superbly, and its mutton tallow formula promotes such wonderful postshave care. The Gold Bond moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave’s beautiful old school European scent is a top favourite of mine not to mention how frigid it is. Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Junjie/Wilkinson day 13 Stirling Glacial Strawberry Lemonade SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Stirling Glacial Strawberry Lemonade AS Splash If a setup like this doesn’t freeze your face off then nothing will - man alive, this Glacial Strawberry Lemonade soap and aftershave are loaded to the brim with lethally cold menthol. The scent is so delightful - the strawberry seems to be a bit more dominant but the lemony notes are there too, the soap provided more than enough lather for two guys to shave with, and the postshave feeling was so soothing as well as comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer has no shortage of menthol either, and it gives great protection from dryness, and the Glacial Strawberry Lemonade aftershave went on frigidly cold along with its beautiful scent that lasts all day. Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: (And what a Grand Freeze it was!) Hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 6 Stirling Glacial Cedar SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Cedar AS Splash An hour or so was when I shaved and I can still feel a cold tingle on my face - the Glacial Cedar soap and aftershave did one helluva number on me. The scent is so beautiful, the soap provided tons of awesome lather that was so thick, rich, mega slick and protective, the menthol sensation felt borderline painful, (in a good way of course!) not to mention how comfortable the postshave feeling was. The Stoffel balm is so moisturizing as well as soothing, it’s also icy cold, and the Glacial Cedar aftershave went on frigidly cold. I transplanted the Wilkinson blade into my Super Speed because the Junjie was too harsh yesterday and the results were a wonderful three pass BBS with no issues whatsoever!
