Lol! I appreciate the sentiment, but PAA will never cross the threshold of my shave den again. The PAA/King R Emporium soap performed well and it wasn't the premium CK-6 base.

Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil (traditional anti-acne)

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE open comb "nick-proof" plate / Supply Black Label (about 10)

Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime shaving soap (stick)

Brush: Jason's 30DC LE maple cashmere

Lather Bowl: None

Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime splash

Last shave: Wednesday morning - 7 days

The setup:





My usual setup for Decadent December, since I am trying to Titanic the Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime shave stick (the bottle of splash will last for about 100 more uses than the soap will).

I did my usual two passes today - first WTG and then XTG. A third pass would likely have me BBS but with some razorburn; DFS without the burn is perfectly fine, thank you.

Actually, the alum was a bit warm in several places today but no "hot spots". And no bloody nicks this time - although I do have the faint suspicion of a blood spot at the very tip of my chin, where I probably nicked a pimple.

Speaking of alum, I am thinking of taking the radical step of binning my current bar of alum and breaking out a new one. The current one is down to a sliver I have to hold with one finger and my thumb and is becoming difficult to use properly. So it looks like it might beat the shave stick on the way down to the deck of the Edmund Fitzgerald...

Hmm, I agree, I am finding the Pinaud's a bit boring, or maybe my tastes are changing, I can always refresh frequently during the day to double up and use them up faster !?

Don't know of a way of re-purposing the alum, unlike nearly used soaps.
I agree, find a nice cosy spot for it in a bin somewhere and break out a nice fresh new one!

Excellent shave and post John. When my alum blocks get smaller, I use the smaller edge as if it was like the old deodorant shave sticks.
