  1. Grazie Joe

Welcome back Troy, keen to see your posts

Good going Joe, going to keep the empty tub of course?

  2. Sounds like another great brand of no nonsense and long lasting footwear, especially if they are worth taking to the shoe repair shop. Nice to still find quality made items in this day and age of fast imports

  3. Very pleased with this Christmas Eve shave. Clean and clear along the cheeks&sideburns. i could have done better at N. Porcupine(above upper lip), but I'll take it. South was fin(chin). I left a little at N. Cactus Nation(neck), but got most of it down there. One pass. Nice work from the Proraso Shave Foam(red one). Ditto with the Proraso Barbe Dure A.S. Super Duper Outstanding.
  4. I just recently found out that Mitchell’s Wool Fat is no longer being produced.

  5. Thank you Chris. The Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is an all time favourite of mine.:love055: Have a Great Christmas day tomorrow.
  6. Thank you John. Unearth the Haslinger soaps, you'll be pleasantly surprised. They don't get top marks for their fragrances which are very mild, but their lathering performance & post shave is outstanding. Love the anonymous wall hanging. ;)
  7. thank you Chris.:):eatdrink047:

  11. Apparently this was just announced a couple weeks ago as an upcoming closure. Another classic manufacturer disappearing. Their original formula dated to 1893 according to the labels, but the production line in Bradford was actually established in the 1930s. That's still almost a century of existence. Sad to see them go.

    Christmas Eve shave:
Prep: hot shower and face wash
Lather: Leftovers (TOBS and Arko) grated and smashed together
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Razor: ATT Windsor
    Blade: Personna (4)
Post: cool rinse and Captain’s Choice Venture

Spent a bit more time working up a dense and shiny lather. When I say a bit more time, maybe 45 seconds to a minute longer than usual. It was a nice slick lather for 2 easy passes and all is well. No cuts or weepers.

  14. Nice to see you posting again, Troy! Hope you have a great holiday season!

I must say, TOBS and Arko seems like a bit of a weird mix. I assume that is TOBS shave soap and not shave cream? What particular scent -- or is the TOBS so old that it really doesn't have a scent anymore? Us nosey parkers like to know these sort of details...

  15. @Screwtape It was the absolute tail end or bottom of the tub of a TOBS cream that had been rolling around my cabinet for years and it dried down to be a soap. I decided to mash it in with some grated Arko in the mug above. I don't know that it has a scent anymore other than soap, just like Arko calms down to after a while.

  16. December 24 Headshave

    Good afternoon.

Suneko Amorphous Diamond DE Blade (4)
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush

    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel Dome
    Turf: 4.16 Days

Performed a three pass plus pickups without any red liquid leaving my physical being. Loaded the brush off the puck and lathered my dome for the slickness that was needed for this afternoon's shave. Alum was silent. Finished with my usual postshave ritual. Have a Merry Christmas to all of you. Take care.
