    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

It's been some time since I used the Razorock "WTP?!" soap and forgot it takes a bit more time to build a lather, which for me isn't a big issue I find after the soap has been bloomed in tepid tap water for few minutes I'm rewarded with a rich, creamy slick protective lather with a good post shave feel.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Wilco Men's Moisturiser.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

  2. Thanks, Joe. The styptic pencil rubbed the error out.

  3. Great Monday shaves and reports, gents!

Neal, interesting comparison on the weights and blade gaps of various razors. I suspect blade angle also plays a role... Oh, and glad to hear the interview seems to have gone well. Good luck when they make their decision!

  4. Great way to start your Tuesday, Barry!
  5. Blade angle is part of the equation yes. I'm working on the data but haven't completed it yet. How the three work together determines aggression and I've always been interested in how it all comes together.

  6. Great Tuesdays shave. The Sir Hare soap was strong enough to give the brush enough to work with in under a minute-good sign.Clean and clear all over, no damage...another good sign. 2 healthy passes. Strong close from the Stephan Bay Rum A.S. Just a little bit of clove in there, which I suppose is natural for a Bay Rum product, but I like how it blends in with the other ingredients so you don't get the "full-clove" persuasion. Stephan's Bay Rum is a go0d buy over at Williamsport Barber. This one gets the top grade-As Outstanding As It Gets.

  11. I’ve decided, since I’m semi-retired and feel that I can return to fully retired when I want to, that I’ll only shave every other day. It seems like my whiskers don’t grow as fast as they once did and 12 and 13 year olds don’t notice if I’m clean shaven. Plus, my good shaves seem to last about 36 hours before it is visually noticeable.

So today was a no shave Tuesday. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it!

  12. As I understand it, Troy, you really have to watch out for those 12 and 13 years olds -- they are vicious fashion critics and absolutely merciless when they collect in packs. Sort of like those mini velociraptors in the second Jurassic Park movie...

  13. I have pondered how to respond to your response. I will at least commend you for your honesty. That being said, given that you readily admit to #3 -
“3. You just do not give a rats “petunia” to the opinion of others and will do whatever suites you even though it may give others the opportunity to understand you shaves and even learn a few things.” - is really unfortunate.
Therefore, although I have tried to view your post with an open mind, with diminishing returns, I have no choice but to ban you from my viewing of your posts from this post forward. Perhaps others will find your writings worthy of the time to read and comment. I no longer can or want to.

As always, I wish you many fine shaves and hope for future improvement in the entire process. Be well Paul.
  14. Wonderful Bay Rum shave Neil. Hope the decision goes you way.

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Drew Dick 7/8” Half Hollow Damascus
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Malle Burl
Lather: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Outstanding custom straight razor shave today. The boar brush whipped up a nice King of Oud lather suitable for three passes. I was rewarded with an extremely close and comfortable shave. I did manage a set down error on the left side of my neck. It was no big deal as the alum and witch hazel took care of the crimson.

We have another crisp Winters day here on LI. I have already completed my X3Bar and sprint workout this morning. Now I am off to a luncheon with some former colleagues. The perks of the MoLC (Men of Leisure Club).

    Enjoy your day.

  20. I commend you for sanctioning Paul. As everyone knows, I also have banned Paul so that I don’t see his posts unless I desire to do so. I will never ban anyone from this thread unless they continually go against the rules that I have posted in my monthly intro. Personally, I think Paul should move on to the SOS thread where he is best served. In the past, I have shared why I think this is the best path for Paul so there's no need to beat that dead horse. He is still welcome to post here. Ultimately, it's his decision to stay or leave this thread.
