it is touchy with certain blades, and fiddly to get the blade straight..by the way,a dual pin cap from a flat bottom tech or newer is the same as your #77 rfb cap.direct replacement.should be easy to find..an etched 0ne will work as well..

    The lather makes a difference!
I’ve shared that loading this badger brush from a harder soap has not resulted in great lathers and thus not great shaves. I’ve also shared that I don’t really like the Gillette Slim.

Well, going back to the TOBS cream and getting a slick, shiny and dense lather makes me say that maybe this ain’t a bad razor

2 smooth passes and I’m good to go!
    Prep: shower
    Lather: TOBS Sandalwood
    Brush: NN Badger
    Razor: Gillette Slim

Just when you think a razor is not that great, it can surprise you. Great shave Troy.

Only one change today from yesterday:

    Brush-BOAR(green handle, vanilla knot).

Thia shave was very similar to that of Monday. Clean and clear almost everywhere, but not so on South Porcupine(chin) where some redness developed. The Setphan A.S> did a better job of neutralizing it than Monday, as it has skin-friendly qualities. But a little bit remains. I think that's been my problem of late-spending too much time on certain areas. Course that results in redness. Shux. A little(shaving)goes a long way. That's my January theme. Applying soap.foam is fine for spending a lot of time, just not the shaving persuasion. But as I said, S. Porcupine was the only problem. Good shave elsewhere. 2 passes. Very Outtanding(but can do better in the future).

    Good morning.

    Personal Care Witch Hazel

Well, I finally reached 600 straight and 600 shavette shaves (1200 open blade shaves) today. Appropriately, I went with my first custom straight to achieve this special milestone. I previously mentioned that I was going to use Artie, but I posted hastily because that razor wasn't my first custom.
I picked out the Müehle R102 for my headshave

Did 3 passes on my face and 3 passes on my dome plus light pickups for an error-free smooth and comfortable shave on the face and cueball smooth on the dome. It's simply amazing that I have 93 shaves on Max and haven't used my lapping films to sharpen it. Yes, I did use my Crox treated strop to maintain Max. Similarly, the Suneko blade is still sharp to shave an almost 4 day dome lawn. Lol!

I went with the Barbus shave cream because it's easy to lather and is quite thick. Except for the brush, the rest of the hardware was made by European masters.

I had very little alum feedback on my neck and none on my face and dome. Splashed on the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave to finish this shave Take care.

my shave consist of the usual three passes that led to a super smooth face feel refreshed with the aftershave and witch hazel.

My preshave morning consisted of an X3 Bar quad workout. Nothing like frying your legs first thing in the morning. I have to try to keep up with our Grand Pumba with his Beastmode.

Hope you all have a fine day gentlemen.

I must be missing something, isn’t it almost two years. Although if you count the shavettes shaves as well it would be four years.

Thanks Gary. You are correct. If I used my open blades every day, then it will be close to 4 years of doing so.
