Tuesday, January 14 Yardley Black Label~~Semogue TSN Final Edition 1/50~~Cooper Monobilt/Polsilver~~Amouage Gold Pulled out the big guns for today's shave. Finished with the original formula Amouage Gold. Can you say Civet?
I am back with a new 3017. After playing the field for a week I decided I need to finish off this puck of Czech & Speake 88. I think this had the same base as the AoS tallow, luckily after all these years there is still some scent. I did finish off a bottle of my favorite cold weather A/S, Small Batch Shave Tonic. Fortunately, my brother from another brother hooked me up with a bottle on my last visit to the father land.
This soap was indeed made by Valobra. Great base. The Rose Absolute is quite different from the typical Rose accord, such as MdC or Klar Kabinett. Dustier/Darker.
Wednesday, January 15 Ethos Dragonsbeard~~Varlet Mega HD~~Gem Clog-Pruf/Gem~~Amouage Opus XIV Royal Tobacco Gotta say, I am not a huge fan of Gem blades. Everything else was great.
Maybe in time he will be ready to step the ultimate level but that requires a trip to the mecca in Gurley Al. It does not count if he orders it online.
Thursday, January 16 MdC Rose~~Plisson 16~~Gillette #44 Made in England/Feather~~Vintage Kouros This one's for @Keithmax First use of the NOS very vintage YSL Kouros. Bottle is mos def® from the '80's. BTW: ZERO Hair loss with the Plisson!!!!
I continue to work on the Czech & Speake, it is a fine soap. My finest brush is my vintage Culmak 55, I do not use much since it is so small. I gave up finding a bigger one as on the great brush hunter @Primotenore can find one. It is Friday here so my weekend will involve some variety. For those of you wondering, all is OK in South Korea despite the images you see of our impeached president being dragged away by the police. Korean politics can be exceptionaly nasty. No threat to the public other than our national embarrassment.
Friday, January 17 ToOBS Oud~~Simpson 58~~Gillette #44/Feather~~Nasomatto Pardon Busy liquidating about half of my stank collection over on the 'Bay'. Of all my Nasomattos, I kept this and a 10ml decant of Hindu Grass. It'll take a while, but after that will come 10+ brushes. Straights and DE's will come last. Only gonna keep the "crème de la crème"
Saturday, January 18 Mike's Bay Rum~~Semogue~~Gillette #44/Feather~~Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns The Feather blade left some marks on the ATG pass/lower neck. Too steep of an angle. User error.
Sunday, January 19 Czech & Speake No. 88~~Wald A1~~Wolfman WR2/Feather~~Amouage Epic I traded a Darwin handle for this WRH2. OMG, is it a beast! Makes the WR2 a formidable weapon. Inspired by @Keithmax I reached for the C&S No. 88 Not my favorite scent, but an excellent soap.
I have already removed the stanks that are on Ebay from "My Shave Den". I have culled about 11 Simpson Grey box era brushes that'll eventually find themselves up for auction as well. 90% of my straight razors will eventually go. Haven't chosen them yet and that wont happen this year. DE's...many are on the chopping block. I know I'll keep my Wolfmen. Maybe my '47 SS. My '36 Crat. Not going to commit at this time.
