Very nice shave Neil. I tried Stirling’s Hot Apple Cider in the bar soap. Love the scent. Was tempted to pick up a sample, just have too many soaps in the two dens.

Jillette January

Razor - Gillette el-cheapo
Blade -
Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling synthetic

Taking a day "off" after working through my vintage Gillettes. I'll get back to those tomorrow with a bit of a focus change. Today I grabbed my el-cheapo Gillette that I'm sure was free with blades. I have the same razor with Rapira on the cap and I know it was part of a blade purchase. These are light, plastic handled, and some of the cheapest metal in a razor head you can find. No idea who makes them or where but you know what? They work. I used a Wilkinson blade, lathered up the Arko with a Stirling synthetic and did two quick passes. Good enough for a lazy Saturday, and better than using a blade on a bolt, which I've done. Spent the day rearranging my office, which is also my shave den, getting razors sorted out where I want them, and ending it winning an auction for another vintage Gillette on Ebay. Not a bad way to spend the day.

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent bar Soap.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Ikea Kalas Side Bowl.
Lather: Nivea Men Originals Shaving Cream.
Blade: Amazon Solimo. (D2)
Razor: Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Nivea Refreshing Toner./ Superdrug Sierran Breeze ASL. /Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

Scent = Santal spirit Sandalwood
Score = 9.8 / 10

As smooth as it gets
Damage, none, super smooth super-lather. This is a great combination, the Palmolive shave cream as prep, and the Clubman Pinaud straight over the top. Best lather I have produced yet. Gillette Platinum was still Ok on day 3, but binned it anyway
