Very good shave this morning. RegimentGear has quality shave soaps-I was impressed the first time I used it many years ago, and received another recently through a PIF. The Boar brush dug right in and got a good amount. I did miss a couple areas, but will work at getting them tomorrow(right side of North Porcupine, and lower right sideburn area). Nice everywhere else. Simply a Technique trumps Tools shave. Finished with Stoylin Unscented A.S.-not much left in there. Pretty Outstanding.

it will be tough,they are all excellent..i questioned the reason for the "upgrades",but will try to rate them..best ,bester ,bestest,bestest ever..

Much better results today with the lather using a synthetic vs a badger brush from last week. I was rewarded with a nice lather which spread on the face in a thinner fashion. The razor easily glided over the cushion it provided.

Super close three pass shave without any mishaps. Getting g ready for a day of football.

Since I made it through all of my vintage Gillettes (other than two that are still yet to arrive) I decided I'd go back and just pick out my favorites in the bunch to use until the end of the month. I also am abandoning Gillette blades in favor of my beloved Russians. When the next two arrive I'll try them each with a Gillette blade just to keep the theme.

Tonight I went back to the Gillette NEW SC, which is also known as "Matthew the haunted razor." This was an Ebay pick up on a dare back in the day because the seller had a very well written description of the razor being haunted, as well as the history of its previous owner. It was rough when I got it, but I cleaned it up, used it, then sent it to razorplate.com for a shiny new plating. It's a beauty, and it shaves smooth and easy and I have always preferred it over the NEW LC, which I also like a lot.

I chose a Sharp Star blade from Mostochlegmash in Moscow, makers of Rapiras, Voskhods and this gem of a blade. My favorite of the bunch. Sharp and smooth it pairs with every razor I've ever tried it with. The Sheep from Stirling and the @Jayaruh brush made more lather than three of us could use, and I did a full three passes just to enjoy the time. Perfect finish, and the Veg splashed on made it a perfect finish. I'll do two more shaves with this razor and blade before moving on.

I had a blade sampler pack arrive today that I bought as a filler item to get next day shipping on a keyboard yesterday. Some I've tried, some not. Will be fun to play with blades again for a bit when I get around to that. Maybe February?

You, good sir, are correct. I knew that. I knew when I typed it in it didn't look right but I was hurrying. He is a New Deluxe and a fine one too. I actually found the pictures I took of him when he first arrived, and the copy of the story behind him.
