This setup…….oh my goodness……it’s so frigid - if you can’t handle intense menthol then stay away from it and leave it for me. The scent of this Glacial Citron is so beautiful - lemon, lime, and a little grapefruit all come together to make it so refreshing. The soap is a tallow based lather monster with such awesome slickness, the menthol sensation hits like a ton of bitterly cold bricks, and the postshave feeling is wonderful. The Stoffel balm is also a bona fide face freezer with a very nice peppermint scent, and it gives lots of soothing as well as moisturizing. The Glacial Citron aftershave seems to pair so well with the Eau Sauvage fragrance. Three passes did me proud - such a terrific BBS shave despite the blade getting duller.

Early morning face & head shave.

The Baili BD191 /Amazon Solimo blade was a wonderful mild yet smooth efficient duo mowing through my face stubble with effortless ease.

I'm really impressed with the longevity of the Amazon Solimo blades.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.

Alt Innsbruck AS Splash

This Paradise Frost soap has been sitting underneath my sink for ages so I pulled it out this morning. It’s tallow based, it has a really nice, refreshing scent which I can’t describe, it lathers wonderfully, it’s fairly slick, there’s a mild kiss of menthol, and it’s pretty good skincare wise. The Lubriderm moisturizer saw to my postshave needs, and do I ever love the old school European scent of the Alt Innsbruck as well as its strong menthol punch. The Wilkinson blade is retired now after two weeks of diligent service. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was very enjoyable!

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #460 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Baton-handled Treet SE Razor and the Personna Gem Stainless PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

DE SOTD, Tuesday, January 21st 2025

Razor : Razorock Lupo.72 316 SSP head with a Yaqi handle 316 SS. Excellent machining, finish and design, mid range. I like this razor a lot for its unique design and its performance seems very constant with different blades with my technique combined!
Blade : Polsilver SI (3) sharp and smooth with great longevity.
Soap : Yaqi The Green croap, what a nice fragrance, its like walking in a evergreen forest is the best way to describe it with out leaving the den + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Mountain lake" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent knot on a tranquil looking handle.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi The Green splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my RR Lupo.72 with a Gillette Polsilver SI blade.
