  9. sounds ideal. My wife likes traipsing around Ikea, me not so much, but that’s a good enough reason for another visit;)

Cool. Maybe hold on to those Russian dolls for a while, they are sure to have some value apart from the fun factor.
  10. Great shave this morning. A minute at the Loading Dock for the brush and soap. I do 0:30 in each direction. The Razorock Tricolore scooped up a solid amount of Pages soap to get me ready for the shave. The Pages scent resembles that of what it must be like to read a leather-bound book by the flicker of light in an attic. It wouldn't qualify for a Throwback Thursday shave, but it sure FEELS like it could. This was one of those shaves where I felt one pass could be enough, but I just hate to waste quality shave soap, so I went for the second pass. Clean and clear all around. No damage. Nice finish from the Pages A.S. Hub City Soaps is a fine artisan. As Oustanding As It Gets(for the shave).

  11. Fabulous Fat shave Barry. Alas, I will never get to enjoy MWF.

  12. Too bad about the Ozzie soap. I would have used it as a regular soap or maybe a preshave. In any event, you had fine shaves.

  13. Thank you Joe. It's a shame you didn't experience MWF. However, their is plenty of other shaving soaps that are equally good.

  17. January 25 SOTA Head and Face Shave

    Good afternoon.

    1955 Gillette RedTip
Feather Hi Stainless DE Blade (1,2)
    JR#290 Cashmere Brush
Music City Suds Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 27 hrs.
    Dome Turf: 3 days

    20250125_140525.jpg

I have never tried a new Feather blade in this razor. I must say it was a good combo. Using a very sharp blade in a very mild razor was a marvelous experience. The RedTip really tamed the Feather blade. Three passes on the face and dome gave me a BBS error-free shave. However, I did have to do some touchups on the dome.

Had some alum feedback, but nothing serious. Topped off the shave with the matching aftershave. I feel clean and refreshed. Take care.

    Jillette January

    Razor - Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - rapira-platinum-lux.jpg (2)
    Soap - Proraso
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Finish - Proraso

Stepping back about ten years to an early setup from the 30DC. First month, in fact. Well, nearly a complete step back. The only difference is the blade. Using the Rapira PL in this shave and the blade is still smooth on sharp on day number two. The big Pro 48 brush made the Proraso come alive and three passes were smooth and effective. Finished with Proraso A/S to help me stay awake after a long week of nights. Great shave for a night off!
