Hmmm. No, I honestly can't really say that the Stirling Scots Pine Sheep is any better than, for example, the Bay Rum beef tallow soap. The sheep base lathers easily and is very slick and protective. Plus it has a very good postshave moisturizing feeling. But so do the Stirling soaps that just use regular beef tallow rather than mutton tallow - especially when they include lanolin in their ingredient list. I think it is like those soaps that included duck fat ... it's a bit of a gimmick. As I understand it, in a properly made soap, the tallow is fully saponified anyway, so I don't expect it should make much difference if it originally came from a cow or a sheep (or a duck). So... does anyone make shaving soap using wild game fat? Maybe grizzly bear fat for those really really tough beards?
If I am not mistaken, the Creighton factory is sort of like the Personna of name branded tub shaving creams, isn't it? Almost all of those packages of DE and injector blades with the house brand names of small stores or companies on them come out of the same Personna factory. And most of the tub shaving creams marked "Made in England" originate in the Creighton factory.
I almost never stick with any soap or cream long enough to make much of a visible dent in it. Maybe it's time I did. Hmm... how does Edmund Fitzgerald February sound?
Walgreens still carries the Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLES......I bought a bag. The 2 local Walgreen stores are quite a drive, but I was in the area of one this morning and stopped in. But I'll finish the bag of CVS "Blade" pivots first.

I agree. However, in the beginning, I wasn't impressed. It was when I got the right water/soap ratio that I enjoyed it The only criticism that I may make is that the soaps and the aftershaves are lightly scented.
thank you John,thern i won't buy it as an extra/new soap base..i have 6+ stirling soaps at last count and they are excellent products.i have been purchasing the latest and greatest soap bases lately to try them out..omnibus -b & m,milksteak-d g,ultima-a & e,they are all top shelf performance wise.. but no wild or exotic tallows as far as i know..
thank you so much John,,though i will be honest,the razors do deserve 98% of the glory,they really are that shiny...i have spent the extra $$ to get NOS or near mint examples with original plating.,but not too perfect as to deem them museum pieces.those sets have been passed along..
i do the same John,i change them out daily,like my razors and brushes..at 60+ soaps,plus creams ,my collection seems barely touched.in theory my soaps like mdc,canada,and other triple milled examples will last for years..
very similar but not the same..Creightons has their own soap/cream base line,and makes products for others,usually to manufacturess/customers specs they all have slightly different ingredient lists,though are similar.-ie-trumper's,truefitt and hill,etc,but tobs uses someone else..
Friday 7 Feb 2025 no shave day Saturday 8 Feb 2025 Setup Usual hot water prep and T&H No 10 as preshave Soap = back to MWF for a 2 day stubble Brush = Omega Boar 10049 Bowl = white plastic Razor = Gillette No 66 Blade = Personna Platinum Chrome (4) Made in Germany Passes = 3 Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s Rose Petal, dry time, Nivea Balm ASL = Imperial leather Scent = TBS Black Musk Score = 9.7 / 10 Damage = none MWF 0 + 0 + 1 + 0.5 Sterling 1 + 1 + 1 The Fat was better today, so I gave it 0.5 score Lightly bloomed the puck Soaked the brush in tap water that I had standing overnight to allow chlorine to evaporate (Perth WA water can be randomly chlorinated at undeclared times) Shook brush dry. Squeezed dry even more To the MWF puck for 100 swirls Removed the facial prep: reapplied water to the face Today I tried bowl lathering the MWF again, only added 1 ml of water and it quickly turned bubbly Loaded more MWF from the puck, back to the face, slowly adding water. This improved things to get a nice shiny slick lather Hardly felt the blade at all during the shave, actually I didn’t which is a credit to the MWF Super clean removal of 2 days growth Really good feel during and after the shave The Personna was still great on day 4 but I binned it anyway, no point in tempting fate So I gave the MWF a score of 0.5 only because it took more time and effort to get a good lather, and still turned out less than expected, but it did its job wonderfully well As @Trigger says, here's my lather Next time I will go back to face lathering with the MWF, using reverse osmosis water, and starting an almost dry brush. The fun continues. I know this had been tackled ad nauseum on a number of forums with many differing opinions, so I will have to figure this one out for myself which is half (if not more) the fun Have a great Saturday one and all
