Thanks Gary. Each shave gets better and better
  11. Today's shave would have received a top-notch grade, but for the fact that I had to strugggle to complete the right side of North Porcupine, a problem I've had before. Finally got it done during the second pass.Clean and clear everywhere else, following a minute at the loading dock. I could have done a little better at the central jawline area. Very pleased overall with this Lincoln's Birthday shave. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Freedom February

    Razor - Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade - Gem SE
    Soap - El Caballero
Brush - 30DC 2019 Meetup with Synthetic knot

I was inspired by a post here to break out my single edge razors. Had to double check that I had the blades, and luckily found a couple still waiting to be used. I grabbed my MMOC and loaded it up to give it a few shaves. The synthetic knot in the 30DC brush tore up the El Caballero, and I'm almost down to the ring of death. This 3017 business is tough!

Lathered up and made a short stroke to make sure I had a good blade, and indeed I did. I went two full passes and some touch up and remembered how great this razor is. The thicker single edge blade and open comb exposure makes it a bit easy to overdo things, but I held back and finished with just a touch of irritation but a fine, smooth finish indeed. Looking forward to doing a couple more shaves with this one.

  14. February 12 SOTM Head and Faceshave

    Good morning.

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Zorrik DE Blade (3,4)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    TSD Barbershoppe SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 49 hrs
    Dome Turf: 5 days

    20250212_110901.jpg

Long overdue for a headshave so I brought out my Fatboy. Three passes on face and dome gave me a BBS shave. Did get an ultra, ultra minuscule weep on my lower lip. It really was so tiny that I debated whether I should mention it or not. It went away without a trace hitting it with the alum.
Loaded the brush from the puck to lather my face and neck. The soap is quite thirsty so I had to add water constantly and hit the puck multiple times to give me a nice, slick lather.

There was some alum feedback on the dome and neck, but nothing serious. Splashed the matching aftershave to end this session. I feel refreshed and clean. Take care.
  15. Awesome setup and shave Chris. :)
  16. Wonderful Wednesday shave Neal.
