Thanks, Barry, as some of the old timers on this forum will tell you, I’ve never been a Tabac fan, new or old formulation. I’ve been using MWF for many years (10+) and am not happy with the new formulation. I’m told one of the reason in addition to cost was that the old lanolin based formula was more difficult to lather. That actually was part of its charm, but things are what they are. I’ll work my way through my three remaining cakes, God willing (just celebrated my 78th trip around the sun) and that will be that! Always enjoy your posts, my old limey friend!

Sometimes the soap tries to show you who is the boss. Eventually it will succumb. Nice shave regardless of the temperamental SOB

    Razor: Union Cutlery Banty 9/16”
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft “Beehive” 28mm
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
    Aftershave: Floïd The Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
Wednesday’s shave: Bsck to the straights. Superb and efficient three pass shave without any issues. The soap lathers well. Very nice finish with the Floid Genuine although I prefer the Floid Genuine Vigoroso. Unfortunately, that splash is no longer available.

Chris, MWF is admittedly an acquired taste. I always appreciated it for its lanolin based skin benefits, but the difficulty many experienced in lathering the old formula are no longer an issue with the new palm-based formula. Without its lanolin, I have no interest in the new formulation. But that’s just me!

When I first started using MWF I couldn't get a good lather, due to me not adding enough water to the mix, I also find that I get the best lather results using a Synthetic brush. What I like about both MWF & Tabac is the post shave feel. I understand the love/hate opinion on Tabac, you do have to have an acquired taste for it's authentic scent, which I believe is from the tobacco flower. However, some people think it smells like an "old wicked mother in law "or last week's sweaty socks. I certainly hope that the makers didn't include any of those ingredients in the soap old or new formation. Happy belated 78th birthday my Yankee Doodle Dandy friend.;)

    Freedom February

    Razor - Micromatic Clog Pruf
    Blade - Gem Stainless SE
    Soap - El Caballero
    Brush - Jayaruh JR#456

Day two with the Clog Pruf. Changed to the JR456 brush and had another great shave today. Today's finish was a bit better than yesterday's. No issues with any irritation, and I used my alum stick to check. Smooth, effective, and plenty of lather from the JR456 so no issues with a three pass shave to end my day. Or night. Or whatever it is. Still cold this morning, minus 2 but sunny and I'll take it! Enjoy your Thursday.

Let's see if this works...course this was Throwback Thursday:

    prep-Dove Men + Care(Exfoliating Deep Clean)in shower
    lather-Mama Bear's Soaps(Beau Brummel*)
    brush-BOAR-green handle, vanilla knot
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Razorock (Puros**)

really nice Throwback shave. The boar scooped up the soap in fine fashion. Nice paint job across the face and neck(Rembrant would be proud of me). Good job with the razor in all areas-no damage. The Puros was a fine finish from Razorock. I went with the Puros over the my recent purchase from Bricktown Grooming(San Juan Hill-Tobacco and Vanilla, but it smellls more like Tobacco, period. I'll try it but if I'm not satisfied , stay tuned @wristwatchb. As Outstanding As It Gets.

Count me in with Rembrandt, Paul! Nice job at the loading dock, and nothing got flipped during the big event! Niagara Falls was calm today, and you had baby smooth sailing across North and South Porcupine. It don't get no better!

Hope all is well, my friend. It's always good to read your posts. I'm glad you're a fellow shaving nut. See you at Piggly Wiggly.
