    i do the damp/dry method also,wet the soap etc,only difference to mine is that i've grated it into a bowl .it can be fiddly somtimes dependant on the water here,so when i need a reliable lather i choose something else.i know many here love it and with daily use it works better,but i have too much better performing product to bother..i really hope it works out for you.:):eatdrink047:..your other pucks will fetch a good $$ if it doesn't.;)

    Freedom February

    Razors - Micromatic Clog Pruf/Merkur 23c
    Blades - Gem SE/Astra SP
    Soaps - El Caballero/Arko
    Brushes - Semogue 1305/Semogue 620

    Work has been an absolute beast lately, so much so that shaving became a victim. I didn't manage a shave either Friday or Saturday, so making up for it today. I decided to do a face shave and a full head shave, something I've not done in a while. My head shaves have been quick hits in the shower instead of full-blown events. Well, today I relax and enjoy both.

    I used the Clog Pruf for my face shave, with the El Cabellero and Semogue 1305 Boar. Have to say the lather was a big lacking in volume, but I'm not accounting for extra load time due to the diminishing amount of soap in the ring of death. I still had enough to make it through two full passes which worked fine. After a couple days growth, the Clog Pruf and SE blade made it easy and smooth to get back to the smooth me. No issues at all. Enjoying using the Micromatics.

    For the head shave I went with my usual Merkur 23c, with a fresh Astra SP blade. Switched to the smaller Semogue 620 Boar and with Arko I had enough lather to shave this week. Extremely smooth and comfy head shave with only a minor need for some "Heisenberg" runs in the shower after. Two shaves and the new week is ahead. Warmer weather on the way and hopefully some calmer nights at work! Enjoy your Sunday!

    Excellent head and face shave Neal. I have used my MMOC for headshaves. Have you used your ClogPruf for headshaves?

    I have not. However, I think it would do a fantastic job, as would the MMOC. Considering I've used pain sticks for head shaves I can't see a reason not to try a SE razor.

    ...some do say so, one day too I will be able to say so!

    That's good advice and pretty much what I have been doing, but with inconsistent results.
    I do like the idea of adding drops of water to the brush, I remember doing this earlier on the month with better results. For the puck i have it seems there is a critical point between too little water and too much.

    Another excellent and consistent shave Barry

    Thanks John. I like that idea. Changing tack and heading in the other direction.
    50 swirls works for Stirling and others, I figured the same would apply to the MWF.
    Only fools etc ....
    Next time, but for the moment I will give the Fat a break and follow @Trigger 's advice too

    1 Days growth

    Usual Prep and Preshave = Hot water prep, T&H No 10
    Cream/Soap = Cyril R Salter Solid soap
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = White Plastic
    Razor = Gillette Red Tip BRG replated B4
    Blade = Derby Premium (day 2)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, Nivea Balm
    ASL = Imperial Leather
    Scent = Prada Ocean Luna Rossa
    Score = 9.9 / 10
    Damage: none

    Same lathering technique as with the MWF. Soaked brush in water ~ 5 min. Shook dry. 50 swirls from the dry puck. Slowly adding 7 cc water. Perfect glossy lather that held its composure and structure throughout the shave. Nice subtle scent, sort of nutty scent to my nose anyway

    The blade was still OK, but I have enough, so it was binned

    Wonderful start to the work week

    Hope you all had/have a great day ahead
