    Awesome shave and setup Joe. I know those smiling straights do a great job, especially on the neck, but they can be tricky to hone.

    1 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Palmolive shave cream regular
    Cream/Soap = MWT lather over the top of the Palmolive
    Brush = Razorock 400
    Bowl = face then bowl
    Razor = Gillette No 66
    Blade = Henckels (3)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane Cedrat
    ASL = Imperial Leather
    Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence
    Score = 9.8 / 10
    Damage = Felt a few minor scrapes but no blood

    The lather resulting from mixing the MWF over the Palmolive shave cream was super thick. Bit of water to make this slicker. The blade felt smooth but somewhat distant from the stubble. Opened the TTO ½ turn. Wow, this now felt quite aggressive. Back down again. Almost no blade feel. Somewhere between 1/8 and ¼ twist to open felt the best: just a little more blade feel, definitely needed more care. I can see why the manufacturers decided to produce adjustable razors

    The L'Occitane Homme CAP Cedrat added a superb layer of protection prior to slapping on the ASL. Hardly felt the ASL go on

    Overall super shave, no damage
    I feel that this tuck of MWF is “missing something” some vital ingredient that can be added from another product. Still a looooong way to go with this tuck!

    Have a great day

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    Ever since I've used blue's goat milk soap, the outcome of the shave is always good, today was no exception, this Chinese made soap doesn't have much scent but it's performance, & post shave feel are very good.

    A close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Bulldog Original Moisturiser.

    My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Razor - Soviet Consul (9)
    Blade - rapira-platinum-lux.jpg (2)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - Stirling Synthetic

    Day two with this setup and it's a cold morning in STL. Just makes it that much better to get home and have a hot shower and get a great shave on. The Consul did a fine job yesterday with the Rapira PL, and I suspect it will again today. I grabbed my Tabac, which I'm using sparingly given the fact they have the new formula. I would actually like to try a sample of the "new Tabac" to compare it to the original. It's been a favorite of both myself and my wife. It's one of the soaps she can recognize instantly by scent. The Stirling synthetic brush made lathering a breeze.

    Two passes, which is normal for me, with some extra attention on the jawlines. Seems I've been leaving them a bit less than perfect lately when I've checked after the shave, so I'm focusing on smoothing them out to match the rest of my face. Used a light touch on the razor and got a very nice, smooth and overall great finish. Definitely a fine way to greet the morning. Which is my evening. Vampire life. Gotta love it. Hope you enjoy your Thursday! The weekend is close!

    Good morning.

    Shavette Shave #609
    Magic by Magic Barber
    Derby 1/2 DE Blade (3)
    Hembree/ Maggard Timberwolf Brush
    TSD Barbershoppe SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 2.5 Days

    20250306_102139.jpg

    I did a quick 2 pass error-free shave for a close and very comfortable shave. The alum didn't provide any feedback so that is always a nice thing. Finished with the application of the matching aftershave. Take care.
