Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into using hair oil to improve the strength, shine, and overall health of my hair, but there are so many options out there that I’m not sure where to start. Some people swear by coconut oil, while others recommend argan, castor, or even rosemary oil. I’d love to hear from those who have tried different oils—what has worked best for you? Are there any specific brands or blends that you recommend? Also, how do you apply it—do you leave it overnight, use it before washing, or as a leave-in treatment? For context, my hair tends to get dry and a bit frizzy, so I’m looking for something that deeply nourishes without making it too greasy. Any tips or personal experiences would be really helpful!
Tried Joris, don't care for it. Nowadays the only hair product I use, when I use it, is Brylcreem. As the jingle says, "a dab will do you." I consider it more of a leave in conditioner than anything else. Helps tame frizz, but if you have naturally frizzy/curly hair, you'll likely want something with a bit stronger frizz control. It does add a slightly greasy/shiny look to the hair and if used in moderation, makes the hair look healthy. A bit too much, and it will look unwashed and oily. It's one of those rub it in, brush it out, then check on it in 30 minutes type of products. Edit: historically, olive oil has been used as a hair tonic. Guess I kinda misread the original post and my mind went to hair tonic rather than hair oil.
