  1. Marvelous Mild Merkur shave Joe.

  3. Very true Joe. I also find building a thinner lather is much slicker than a Santa Claus one, especially for my head/dome shaves. I guess this method is needed for when you shaving with your straight razors too.

Arko for April: thanks for the reminder. I need to dig mine out this month

Good advice. I have never achieved a 10/10 100% BBS both ways and don't think is "a thing" for my beard type anyway.
Always happy to come away with a DFS and maybe some BBS without damage, and most importantly, an enjoyable shave

    Thanks Joe

  12. A repeat of Throwback Thursday, BUT...a different

Brush-Maggard 24 mm. Marble Handle synthetic

Not as good as yesterday, but was fine nonetheless. The appearance of two polka-dots got in the way of things. Both at Porcupine(one North, one South). Otherwise all went well. 0:50 at the Loading Dock for the OSP Old Spice dupe soap. Clean, clear shave on the cheeks&sideburns, as well as all of Cactus Nation(neck). 2 passes.A little less of the New Spice AS poured out, which was good-the Niagra Falls issue was less of a persuasion than yesterday. Most Outstanding.

  14. When my Harry's Bodywash runs out, I think I'll return to a more neutral-smelling brand(Dial or Nivea.) Harry's is too fragrant, which ruins the scent of my aftershave, to a degree anyway. Harry's is much better suited for those who don't shave(or are too young to begin). I might say the same for other fragrant BW's like New Spice.

Razor: J R Torrey The Artist
    Brush: Jayaruh 329 Boar
Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Kilix
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Kilix
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Perfect shave this morning as I prepared to head to opening day at city Field for the New York Mets versus the Toronto Blue Jays. I did my usual three passes with my first restored razor. The end result was a beautiful smoothness that will make the Mrs. proud.

The JA rub brush easily whip up a nice slick lather. The soap and splash provide a very enjoyable scent. The scent profile is as follows: “an elegant woody accord with notes of bergamot and cardamom, on a floral heart of iris, heliotrope, and violet. This unique blend of fragrances is then complemented by a base of cedarwood, sandalwood, amber, Tonka, and a touch of oud.”

Hope you all have a great day.
