Hello all. I’m new to this forum and happy to be here. I’ve been wet shaving for about 3 years and I’m proud to say I’m way down the rabbit hole, love it down here.
@Crest I'm glad you decided to join us here at TSD. We're all in the rabbit hole to some point. Some delve deep into all things shaving and some are very particular where the rabbit hole leads them. For myself I've always been more into brushes more than soaps, razors, but aftershaves and colognes come in a close second. This said I would rather restore or build a brush than purchase one new. I use to believe that I was just plain cheap, but later realized that I often put more time and money into a restoration than what I would have paid for new. I believe it's the life stories behind the vintage brushes that I enjoy reviving over the blank slate of a new brush. Whatever path you take, enjoy yourself and remember help those along way, and once again welcome.
Thank you. I’m still poking around in here. I’m finding the search option a bit challenging. For example I was searching for posts related to the use of pre shave soaps, opinions, processes, etc. it was challenging finding related posts, and I’m sure thousand exist somewhere in this forum. I’ll get the hang of it.
Welcome, @Crest. To your "rabbit hole" comment, I'll repeat what I said in here earlier-that just when I'm satisfied I made a good purchase, I discover ANOTHER company to look up. I have 2 "Shave Dens"-one in my bathroom, one in my bedroom.
I hear you. if I stopped buying shave soaps today, cold turkey, i could probably use what I have till the end of my days. I wonder if my grandkids will take hand me downs once I’m gone But I’ll never stop.
