Fine Throwback shave this morning. I should have done better at the top-right side of N. Porcupine, and the right sideburn area at the jawline, but nice work elsewhere. No damage. One pass. I had to be very careful with that Royal Copenhagen pour spout, but it was worth the attention with that nice scent that followed. Pretty Outstanding. (Course I prefer going all the way on a Throwback shave, but I was satisfied in the end.)

SRS # 1292 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: AA Gen Takahashi Tokusei Brush: Shore Shave Blue Nebula w/ Paragon 25 mm Boar Lather: Stirling Sharped Dressed Man Aftershave: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Additional Care: Omega Alum Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Wonderful Stirling shave this morning prior to heading out to a luncheon with a bunch of retired teachers. As usual, the Stirling soap provided a nice, thin lather which allowed the blade to comfortably do its work. Three passes to super smoothness with the Japanese straight.
Thank you Barry Thanks John thx Gary very moody, nice Thx Joe and again Joe Fine shave Barry Never really tried the Aloe Vera Gel as a post shave treatment yet This is one ingredient of your home made mixture I take it? Classy set up. Enviable Razor! Thanks Joe Hope you had a great lunch. Btw what do retired teachers talk about then? From what my wife and I hear from a retired teacher friend who still does occasional relief work: who would want to be a teacher these days? But that's just down under I am sure, right? Pretty scary Nice shave!
Friday 09 May 2025 1 Days growth Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Palmolive Shave cream Soap = Stirling Bergamot and Lavender + RasoZero Protetivo Brush = Semogue Galahad C3 Premium Boar, super little brush Bowl = White plastic Razor = Gillette Argentinian Tech B2 Blade = Kai (4) (still smooth, binned anyway) Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane ASB ASL = Pinaud Clubman Scent = Prada Ocean Luna Rossa Passes = 2 + There was minimal Alum feedback Yesterday I used the Italian made RasoZero on its own and found it a bit lacking. Luvverly scent though. Today I mixed ½ scoop of it with 1/2 scoop with the slowly diminishing Stirling and was rewarded with abundant thick and slick superlather Lovely damage free start to the Friday Really nice texture to the handle of the Tech, no risk of slipping The Luna Rossa lasts and lasts and lasts for most of the day Have a super run up to the weekend everyone
Thank you Chris. The Aloe Vera Gel I get from my local shopping centre, this one also contains witch hazel, which is a great beneficial combined post shave astringent, toner & moisturiser for my mature skin. I only use/need a small amount which obsorbes in to my skin without feeling sticky. Well worth trying out with your post shave application. You should be able to pick some up in Oz if and when you decide to give it a try. PS: it also doesn't have any lingering scent that will clash with your post shave ASL/EdT/EDP application.
Here was today's shave(Fri). same as yesterday, BUT A.S.-Russiam Leather* *from the TSD Store.. Very nice shave today. Most of the foam came out in cloud-like form(result of the combination of dunking and shaking, which I always do with cans). I like cloud-like form! Reminds me of my Rise cans from many years ago. Boy, I'd love to see those back! Anyway, clean and clear all over. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots, Red-ball sunsets. One pass. I should have used more of the A.S., but will do next time. I guess I was thinking that with Russian Leather, you shouldn't overdo it, but a little more wouldn't have been so bad. Shux. Smells nice, though. It was a Russian Leather kind of day-chilly, cloudy. For the shave itself, As Outstanding As It Gets.
May 9 SOTM Good morning Straight Razor Shave #607 Ralf Aust MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush Pedro Fiasco's Limoncello SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Beard Growth: 3 days I definitely needed a shave. Moreover, I need to look nice because I am going to my friend's father's wake this afternoon. Anyway, 2 error-free passes gave me a nice shave. It's a dreary Long Island day so I went with the Limoncello to brighten up my start to the day. I made a nice lather as you can see below: There wasn't any alum feedback. Applied the wonderful matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.
