These 7 AMs are somewhat inconsistent in performance - they either work great or they work not so great so since I still have some I might as well use them now and then. The Cold Spices soap and aftershave contrary to what a lot of guys say doesn’t smell exactly like the Shulton Old Spice. (At least not to me) it’s very close indeed but the menthol in it has a bit of a negative effect on the scent. The soap is extremely thirsty so a good thing to do is to leave your brush wet and then you’ll get very good lather, I must say that it’s very slick, the menthol sensation is not strong but it’s still detectable, and it’s decent in the skincare department. The Lubriderm moisturizer gave me lots of soothing and finally the Cold Spices aftershave went on really chilly - seriously I wish there was no menthol in it because then it would smell even better. Three passes with the new 7 AM blade gave me a terrific BBS shave so I can’t complain.

The Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #222 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher and the Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tabac Sunday

Maybe the Menthol in the Cold Spices makes one think of the original Old Spice line-"The Freshness Of The Open Sea".

Not at all. As much as I love menthol to me it has no place in Old Spice - definitely not in a Shulton copy. The only reason I have this Cold Spices stuff is because I received it as a birthday gift last year. I myself would never have bought it.
