Thank you Gary, but this is turning into a chilly week-there will be time later for my Proraso Refreshing team.
My "Way Of Wednesday" shave was a repeat performance of Suave Unscented Soap/Caswell Massey Jockey Club A.S. Very pleased overall. Clean&clear everywhere. I do like the Suave Unscented soap. Worked well with the: Brush-Razorock 400 Plissoft Synthetic. No damage anywhere. Fine close from the A.S. A JFK favorite. As Outstanding As It Gets.
Today's shave was the same as yesterday's for me, but for 2 things: I used an A-best blade (Bangladeshi made), and I used Razor Emporium's Lavender soap. It has menthol in it, so I'm still Menthol May. (-: WAAAYYY better shave today! 2 1/2 passes and I have what I consider a DFS. Only just a slight bit of tingling in a couple spots from the alum stick, and I didn't feel like I was getting burned the way I was yesterday. Too, these blades have a lot more audible feedback than at least many of the others I've tried. What makes one blade do that more than another? A couple folks here suggested blade sampler packs. I think that's a great idea, and I have such a pack. It doesn't have ALL brands, of course, but a selection of blade brands from Egypt, Turkey, Bangladesh, and India, as I recall. I also have a pack (what do you call them? A "tuck"?) of Wilkinson Swords from Germany that I've used a couple of. I find I enjoy the scents of shave soaps. I may not want them to hang around much after the shave, but I enjoy them during the shave all the same. In fact, it turns out that the brush, lather, and shave are now a relaxation for me rather than a chore!

Nice post, thanks. No point in sticking with what doesn't work for you, just for the sake of the rules btw. Sometimes if I don't do so well, I might give a blade or razor/blade combo another chance. If I find a blade is not to my liking, well it gets binned. Some days is better than others. Lately I find my better shaves are with 2 or 3 days growth. Daily shaves, at my age, don't give the skin enough recovery time. Another great milestone Joe. I am sure the TI was hanging out for it and felt a bit ruffled at being forgotten Thanks Barry. I like theories, they give on something to think about Nice shave btw. Yep, relax into it and it works better. Took me ages to lose the initial "angst", but the odd nick here and there are par for the course. Lucky to never had ingrowns, that has to suck you are right though, nice blues
