Tuesday June 24 (early morning) - Dump the Rule Tuesday
I was doing a declared Rule this month using this setup for every shave:

However, since I decided to experiment with cold water shaving for awhile, I was changing the Rule's "moving parts" anyway, so I decided to dump it and change things up:
I used this setup instead (except I stayed with Jason's 30DC LE brush shown above):

Prep: Cold face wash with Aleppo olive oil and 20% bay laurel oil soap (traditional anti-acne)
Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Supply White Label (house-branded Personna)(6)
Soap: Crown Shaving Co Shave Cream
Brush: Jason
@jtspartan 30DC Limited Edition maple with cashmere synthetic knot
Lather Bowl: None
Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Crown Shaving Co Soothing After Shave Lotion
Last shave: Tuesday June 17 (late morning) - 7 days ago
The cold water face wash before shaving was quite bracing and helped me feel more alert. It also seemed to have the effect of making the whiskers stand out from the skin rather than softening them but also making them more inclined to "flop down" before the razor as hot water does..
The Crown Shaving Co shave cream face lathers easily and provides excellent glide and protection as well as good post-shave skin care. Its ingredients include spearmint oil, which functions much like menthol, so the lather also tingles on the face.
Two passes - one WTG and the next XTG - removed the stubble with no need of any cleanup passes.
Alum was silent and I had no visible nicks, blood spots or razorburn. The lotion finished off a good shave.
So far, I am thinking that cold water prep is the way for me to go in the future.
Hope the week is treating everyone well so far.
