    Wednesday morning’s Atomic Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 4
    Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island AS Splash

Holy Mackerel my face is totally frozen from this menthol assault - the Glacial Iceberg Island scent is absolutely GORGEOUS. The soap is a champion latherer, it’s slicker than slick, the menthol sensation feels like liquid nitrogen, and the skincare is perfect. The Stoffel balm delivers a helluva strong menthol kick along with its nice peppermint scent and plenty of soothing not to mention how moisturizing it is, and the Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave freezes like Siberia in January - its delightful scent lasts all day. Another terrific, fun filled three pass BBS shave - wowwwww!!!!!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe!

    Menthol Monday’s Lethal Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM
    Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
Noble Otter Northern Elixir AS Splash
    Paco Rabanne Invictus EdT (sample)

Guys, many times I’ve said that Rod and Mandy are not only two of the NICEST people anyone can find, they’re such geniuses when it comes to wetshaving products. Their Glacial Mango Sunrise soap is a gorgeously scented menthol atom bomb with awesome lather, the slickness is wonderful, and it’s so skin friendly like every Stirling product I have. The Stoffel balm is also a frigid delight, and the Northern Elixir aftershave also freezes like crazy - its scent is a nice blend of peppermint and eucalyptus. Finally the Invictus fragrance which I’m kind of on the fence about and I’m good to go - a couple of rounds of golf with some friends of mine today. Three passes delivered a beautiful BBS shave with plenty of icicles in my face!

Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe!

    Friday morning’s frigid announcement:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 6
    Stirling Glacial Frozen Tuxedo SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
Stirling Glacial Frozen Tuxedo AS Splash
    Davidoff Cool Water EdT

Mama mia, if this shave was any colder my face would have fallen off - the menthol sensation of this Glacial Frozen Tuxedo stuff is insane. The scent is MAGNIFICENT, the soap delivers unbelievably thick, rich, mega slick lather with such a soothing postshave feeling. The Stoffel balm is another frozen delight, the Glacial Frozen Tuxedo aftershave put the proverbial “icing on the cake.” Last but not least the Cool Water fragrance which seems to pair very nicely with the scent of the Glacial Frozen Tuxedo and finito. Another three pass BBS work of art - what a cracking good shave this was!

Enjoy the weekend - be well and stay safe!

    Saturday morning’s Major Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 7
    Stirling Glacial Cedar SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
    Stirling Glacial Cedar AS Splash

Not only does this Glacial Cedar stuff freeze the living crap out of you, the scent is GORGEOUS. The soap is a delight to lather, the slickness is unreal, the menthol sensation can flatten a polar bear, and it delivers so generously on the skincare. The Stoffel balm has an extremely good moisturizing feeling - just a small amount is enough, and the Glacial Cedar aftershave has the same awesome scent as the soap not to mention how frigid it is. Another terrific three pass BBS shave that was so much fun!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe!

    Sunday morning’s Atomic Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 8
    Stirling Glacial Electric Sheep SS
    Prep ASB
    Floid Vigoroso AS Splash

My face is so bloody frozen that it feels almost numb but I LOVE that sensation. The Glacial Electric Sheep soap is so awesome - it’s mutton tallow based so it gives fabulous lather with tons of slickness, the scent is a delightful blend of lemon, limonella, and eucalyptus, the menthol freeze starts immediately and each pass makes it stronger, and it leaves the skin feeling like it’s been born again. The Prep delivered so much soothing and moisturizing while the Floid Vigoroso aftershave gave me a powerful menthol kick along with its wonderful old school barbershop scent that lasts almost all day. Another great fun filled three pass BBS shave - today it looks like it’s going to rain on and off so I think I’ll just hang out here at home.

Enjoy your Sunday - be well and stay safe!

Menthol Monday’s Heavy Duty Grand Freeze:

    Cool Shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 9
    Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island AS Splash

Two fantastic soap and aftershave geniuses contributed to this Grand Freeze - first it was my dear brother Rod whose Glacial Iceberg Island soap and aftershave have such a gorgeous scent - the soap is such a pleasure to lather, the slickness is amazing, the menthol sensation is so strong that it’s almost borderline painful, but it gives wonderful skincare. My other dear brother Jaco from Bundubeard in Pretoria, South Africa has a great balm called Stoffel which is peppermint scented in a very nice way, it’s also freezing cold, and just a small amount provides so much soothing as well as moisturizing. Finally back to Rod with his Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave which smells so beautiful, the scent lasts almost all day, and the menthol kick is off the charts. Three glorious passes gave me a magnificent BBS shave that felt like from the Garden of Eden!

Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe!

Help me Shave Den, you're my only hope.

    1. I absolutely love Gin and Tonic on the Rocks. The bath soap, the shave soap & especially the aftershave. Sadly, their whole Gin & Tonic line has been discontinued. Does anyone know of an aftershave with a similar Gin & lime scent that is this balanced & refreshing?

A few I've found but not yet tried:
    - Pinaud's Gin (too much like Aqua Velva? -according to one review)
    - Alcolado Glacial

    2. What are Stirling's witch hazel & aloe products like? Would this be an adequate replacement for traditional aftershave? Is it more like a lotion or splash?

I did Pinaud's "Gent's Gin" today-it hasn't made me think of Aqua Velva at all. Gin, yes.

I'm so pleased that I happened to find my Glacial Lemon Chill soap a while ago, and use it today :). I've been very happy with Doc Ezlovan's glacial offerings.

    Menthol Monday’s Awesome Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 2
    Stirling Glacial Wintergreen SS
    Stirling Glacial Wintergreen ASB
    Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Witch Hazel
    Aramis EdT

Not only am I ever frozen to the max I smell great. The Glacial Wintergreen trio did a helluva number on me with its killer cold menthol sensation. The soap lathered like it was going out of style, the slickness helped the 7 AM to glide across my face so easily, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The matching balm and witch hazel were a perfect finish. Finally the lovely Aramis fragrance and I’m good to go. Three glorious passes gave me a super duper BBS shave that was fit for a king!

Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe!

I've been a Stirling fan for a while but never seen such bottles/labels. Are those a custom concoction or did I miss some special edition?

Friday morning - close to being a Grand Freeze:

    Quick shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 6
    Stirling Frozen Tundra SS
    Bundubeard Boomslang 3 ASB
    Floid Vigoroso AS Splash

This Frozen Tundra is the second coldest soap after the Glacials and I LOVE it. The scent is awesome - it’s a blend of wintergreen, peppermint, and earthy notes, the lather and slickness are super, it gives a lulu of a menthol sensation, and it’s so skin friendly like all of Rod’s soaps. The Boomslang 3 balm is extremely moisturizing as well as soothing, its scent is very nice, and there’s plenty of menthol in it also. Finally the magnificent Floid Vigoroso aftershave with its old school European barbershop scent and its icy cold menthol kick completed the job. Another terrific three pass BBS shave that felt like from the Garden of Eden!

Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the US of A!

Menthol Monday’s Heavy Duty Grand Freeze:

    Cool shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 9
    Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island SS
    Bundubeard Stoffel ASB
Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island AS Splash

Man alive, this Glacial Iceberg Island soap and aftershave smell absolutely GORGEOUS. The scent is a perfect copy of Virgin Island Water from Creed with two boatloads of frigid menthol. The soap buried my face in such thick, rich, super slick lather, the menthol sensation felt killer cold, and the postshave feeling was terrific. The Stoffel balm and the Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave were a perfect finishing combo. Three passes gave me a most enjoyable BBS shave to start the week!

Be well and safe lads and lassies!

Thanks for ID-ing the Iceberg Island scent. Never knew it was similar to a Creed(course I know Doc Ezlovan likes to do that).

Oh Aphrodite! This is such an interesting scent. I'm quite dreadful at describing such things, but there is some mysterious clean, smoky, peppery scent until it dries down into a powder like scent. These are secondary to the main scent, which I can't describe, but gin does not come to mind. Not that I have sampled all gins the world over, although it is one of my favorite spirits.

Gent's Gin isn't a direct replacement for the Glorious Glacial Gin & Tonic (it lacks the freshness, menthol chill & lime note - the name matches the scent precisely) - irregardless, GG is lovely and I probably wouldn't have found it otherwise. Looks like I need to expand my Pinaud collection beyond Bay Rum. Stirling leaves me with no other choice. I did email them about G&T and he said he was sad to discontinue as he stated it was one of his fav. scents, but the demand wasn't there.
    *cries into shave mug*

They're fabulous, I wish he would bring them back.
