    • Razor : Fatip Lo Storto Open Comb Slant Brass with Gold Chrome Plate (Italy).
    • Blade : 7 O'clock Black Super Platinum (2).
    • Brush : Fine Accoutrements Stout Angel Hair Synthetic .
    • Soap : Savon Nu Cajun Blade Soap Unscented Beef Tallow Base.
    • Aftershave : Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum splash.
    • Weight : 69 grams.
    Hi all,
    Good shave today (I guess) with a Fatip open comb slant.
    Firstly its a fancy looking razor with an nice barber pole handle and surprisingly good grip for such a
    shiny handle.
    Its quite an efficient close shaving DE but with one annoying floor which many are aware is the blade alignment issue.
    I was told of this before getting it in a small lot of razors I pick up recently.
    The problem seems to lie with the tolerances of the blade locator pins in the top cap and base plate holes are no way near tight enough.
    I spent to long aligning the blade for equal exposure and angle on both sides (very frustrating for such a pretty razor with so much promise).
    When I can load a suitable blade into any of my three piece DE razors and enjoy the shave I and I'm sure most wet shavers would say "why bother".
    "Attention" Fatip safety razors you really need to tighten up the top cap and base on your slant razor and it would be a great Slant instead of a
    "Why should I bother Slant razor" in my opinion to much messing about when you just want a nice relaxing Shave.

    What a shame.

    One pass WTG One pass ATG No nicks No worries done.

    The Cajun Blade soap beef tallow based (3.5oz) worked well giving me good cushioning and aftershave feel.

    Very nicely finished off with Ogallala Bay Rum Splash.
    Cheers.

  11. With apologies to my likers, I wrongly named the aftershave I used. It was

    A.S.-Proraso Refreshing

    Very nice shave. The great Proraso Refreshing scent has outdone the humidity. I like that. Clean&clear shave all over, with a nice helping of the Proraso Refreshing Foam. One pass. Negative on any damage. I know I listed Osage Rub for today's aftershave-I will be using that later on this week. But as for today, As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Great travel shave Joe

    Enjoy the spritz's!

    Great post. So glad I am not the only one who struggles with this otherwise beautiful razor! Too much faffing to get alignment sorted, but I will bring this out again, maybe on a lazy weekend with more time allocated to shaving.

    Tabac all the way!

    2 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = light coating of Tabac shave stick
    Soap = Tabac
    Razor = Muhle R89
    Blade = Henckel day (2)
    Passes = 3 were needed
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASB = Tabac ASB
    ASL = Tabac ASL
    Scent = Tabac Cologne

    Full house Tabac day

    For some reason I needed 3 passes today. I think it may be due to the fact that the Muhle R89 is more of a “safe” razor and less efficient than some of my others. No matter, a great shave to start a chilly day (6C outside this morning)

    Stay warm and/or cool wherever you may be
