Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Tuxedo synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: Nivea Men Body Shaving Stick.
Blade: Lord Shark Super Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Superdrug Sierran Breeze ASL.

Early Morning Shave,

A comfortable shave to finish my shave week off wonderfully.

The Nivea Men Body Shaving Stick provided a cushioned protective slick lather leaving a superb post shave feel.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Superdrug Sierran Breeze ASL.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.

Blade = Feather (4)……dulling, dragging, dropped into the blade bin
Passes = 2 +
Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
ASL = Clubman Reserve Whiskey woods
ASB = TOBS Royal Forest
Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence

Four days and the Feather is dragging, no point pushing the limit

The Proraso Red Sandalwood was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AC-Matic by Roger Quintero and the Feather AC Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Nivea After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Guys, I’m not kidding - unless you’re able to tolerate intense menthol DON’T EVEN THINK about using this Absolute Zero stuff because you’ll suffer. For me it’s wonderful but that’s because I’m a hardcore menthol monkey. The scent is very nice - it’s aquatic with minty notes, the soap is vegan based because in India where it’s from it’s prohibited to use tallow in anything, the lather is awesome, it’s super slick, the menthol sensation clobbers your face immediately, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The matching balm is as frigid as the soap, and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing. Finally a couple of the Rubby Dubby Doo and my face is almost numb. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was so much fun - my eyes were tearing a little!

Would you say Absolute Zero brings forth the kind of menthol that turned out to be bad for my skin?(BTW, the redness still shows....I'm sure my dermatologist will help with that). Besides that "bad menthol", I haven'thad any problems with other kinds, including Osage Rub, so that's good.

Proraso Green AS provided an excellent finish to the shave.

 

It can wreak havoc on anyone’s skin if they can’t handle this kind of menthol. I never thought I would find anything colder than the Stirling Glacials but this stuff is. Ok, not a lot colder but there’s definitely a difference - this is the coldest soap and aftershave I ever used. I must say that I love it.

Today’s shave saw me go to Greece. I went with the Lambda Athena DLC and a set I found recently, brand new I might add, of HAGS Darkside!

This was my third shave with the Lambda. My first two shaves were a little rough. Having nothing but praise heaped on this razor I figured let me give it another go or two before I move on from it. Today’s shave was much better than the previous two. Wasn’t the smoothest shave but wasn’t as rough as the other two goes. This razor is so damn pretty I want to get the best shave ever out of it. I’ll will give it a few more goes then decide if maybe it just doesn’t work for me.

HAGS Darkside is a set I’ve wanted since I’ve found HAGS and their incredible products. I guess it was hype as I’m not a huge Star Wars guy I’m a huge Star Trek guy (where are those soaps) but I wasn’t disappointed. What an amazing, intricate scent. So nuanced. There is a darkness to it but it’s very smooth and silky if that can be a thing! I’m in love with this fragrance! Excellent!

If this is what giving into the Darkside smells and feels like well then call me Darth Shaver!
