My dad was a Navy Supply Officer in the S. Pacific during WW2. I don't know what he shaved with, but I recall him talkinabout how he shaved out of his helmet.

Great Throwback shave this morning. That Kent Shave Soap has been added to my "I Can't Be Without This" list. Very nice work with that soap. No damage. 2 healthy passes. Osage is a great aftershave combined with the Kent soap. Both have strong menthol, for which reason I dedicate the shave to @Yehuda D -one of the Lantsmen in here. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    • Razor : Gillette Super Speed Y3 1953 (USA).
    • Blade : Wizamet Super Iridium Stainless (1) (Russia).
    • Brush : PAA Amber Aerolite 24mm Stygian Hybrid Synthetic. (USA)
    • Soap : DLC-Yaqi Franken Scent. (China)
    • Aftershave : Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island bay (USA)
    • Weight : 56 grams. (Razor)
    Hi all,
Another great shave tonight from the Gillette Super Speed there are more efficient and smoother razors out there.
But as far as vintage razors go there aren’t many as well known as this family of razors.
Just about anybody who has vintage Gillette’s has one of these razors whether it’s the old type or the flair tips there were so many made that they’re still available today at a reasonable price.
A real piece of history you can own and still get a decent shave with.
I won’t say anything else about today’s set up.
The show belongs to this legendary Gillette super speed.
    Cheers.

I wonder if Clubman and Old Spice might be headed for a lawsuit soon. Why do I say that. As a youngster, I recall part of the Old Spice ad as saying it's like "the freshness of the open sea". Now we have Clubman Bay Rum with "as refreshing as an island breeze" printed as part of the bottle. Course we have a difference in time-the Old Spice ad was quite a long time ago, whereas Clubman's Bay Rum came much later(in my memory, at least). Ahh, maybe I'm' just making a mountain out of a molehill. Rise and Colgate had a lawsuit in the late 1940's, although I forget the details. Rise stole Colgate's thunder someehow.

Today's shave was a 9.5,/10 because feel like I did not do my best. I did shave on dial 4 after a quick go though on dial 1. Today is day 8 on bottom of the blade and 22 overall. I am still using the same King C Gillette early run blade.

I used like always my H 2 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case.

I showered before the shave so I did not have to use my lotion shave soap or extra water.

The new book I got on July-31, King C. Gillette, the man and his wonderful shaving device https://www.amazon.com/dp/0316009377/?tag=thshde-20, my early era of King C Gillete blade before the company moved to the thinner Chinese models, and my Gillette shaver are proving they are still a great trio for this month. I am almost done with the book in chapter 10.

I wonder if Gillette and Schick are going to have a lawsuit. Both companies have a women's Shaver that is very similar, Gillette Venus and Lady Schick Shavers. I mean both were in the late 2000's or early 2010's having a lawsuit on the safety wires on women's shavers with both companies owned by Procter & Gamble when Gillette lost the lawsuit because Schick had the design first. Somehow Dorco was making a shaver in the same era that was the same safety wire design yet never in a lawsuit.
