Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Cien Men Kenya Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Omega 10066 Boar.
Face & Head Lather.
Lather: La Toja shave stick.
Blade: GEM coated. (D1)
Razor: Gem Micromatic. (OC) 1930

Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's, cold water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Repara Moisturising Lotion./ La Toja ASL.

Greetings,

My September focus I will be using my vintage SE razors for my face shaves and will be using the "Indian made Trac-II clone" Gallant II platinum cartridge razor for my head/dome shaves.

As it's been quite some time since I used the Gem PTFE coated blades, and I forgot how much audio feedback you get from them. The rigidity of them makes them feel sharp & efficient.

The GEM Micromatic (OC). is the most assertive of all my vintage SE razors, I have read in many shaving forums that the shaving characteristics you get from the GEM Micromatic (OC). replicates that of a straight razor.

As with any razor shaving confidence, a light touch, & good technique are the key to a comfortable close shave especially the GEM Micromatic (OC).

The La Toja shave stick has a good slickness & post shave I really like the fragrance of this shave stick, it's fresh clean scent reminds me of dove bar soap with a masculine edge to it.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of La Toja ASL.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.

It is Single Edged SEptember, and I will be using a different single edge razor for the thirty days of SEptember.

The TSD Iced Lemongrass Shaving Soap was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A1 and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Update: The Contour II is just not working like I want so moved the blade to my Shield Predator and will use that the rest of the week.

Digging around my stash o'stuff and found the remants of my TSD Iced Lemongrass SS. Nice stuff and think there's enough left for the week, sure hope so cuz there's a big donut hole in it. I like the Contour II razor, it's a mild shaver for me that works well. Can't get a BBS with it but do get a right fine DFS and that just dandy. So my face is very happy this morning. It felt like heaven to start off September with a Grand Freeze - this Glacial Mango Sunrise soap not only smells gorgeous, it lathers wonderfully, it’s so intensely COLD, and it’s so skin friendly like ALL of my Stirling soaps - my dear brother Rod is a soap and aftershave master. The Gold Bond moisturizer works great as a balm, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave is another menthol atom bomb with such a beautiful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Another superb three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed from start to finish!

For today’s shave I had a few firsts. My first time using the Konsul or any slant at all and my first time using Gentleman’s Nod.

I had picked up the Konsul from RE a few months back in the Prospector finish. I never reached for it until today. Having never used a slant previously I wasn’t sure what to expect. I got a very nice, smooth shave out of it. I paired it with my favorite blade - a Wizamet - which seems to be smooth no matter how I use them to remove hair. And today was no different. I had an extra days worth of stubble (2 days) and the Konsul slashed through it easily. I enjoyed the shave but will need to use it a few more times before I can have a totally informed opinion. Still a can tell this is a beautifully designed, well crafted razor!

I picked up Tusitala the other week. I had never used Gentleman’s Nod but had heard great things. This is their C4 base and boy does it perform! Thirsty and providing great slickness including residual and just an amazing post shave feel! Which I could tell was coming from the consistency of the splash. They have a new fan! Plus Tusitala is an amazing scent! Warm and sweet it has a softness that feels slightly milky. Right up my alley! I can’t wait to try my next scent from them!
