Catch up time Started the week off with a PRC western grind Kami and first nice brush a Simpson Duke 3. The watch is hard to see but is a Grand Seiko High Beat. AdP to match the XXX. An old school shave featuring vintage Brut and the cheap but awesome Omega Pro brush. The razor is a Janus Toggle, a stainless steel over engineered version of the famous Gillette Toggle.0 Prison shank razor shave. This rustic looking Rasurpur is a pleasure to shave and maintain. Stank of the day, Acqua di Cuba. It is time to make the donut of death appear in this tub of XXX so the huge Simpson Polo 10 did a workout on the XXX. Despite being zamac my 2011 R41 is holding up with no issues. The donut of death will appear next week.
Weekend variety: Saturday was a date night so I went with some sure winners. My Grim Butcher always delivers a smooth face, my Varlet bush and AoS cream. My date for the evening was going to wear vintage No 5 so I went with Muscs Koublaï Khan insuring synergy and good date. Sunday I went with an easy shave, Cobra Classic, for me this razor a breeze to get a quick shave. I do enjoy this Zingari Man. Feeling great after the date so Jōvan Sex Appeal... maybe I will wear it for the next date???
Sunday, September 28 ABC Almond Oil~~Morris & Forndran Ali Baba 2~~Wolfman WR1/Rapira~~Aqua Velva Rockin' the vintage AV these days. Outstanding, masculine AS.
Monday I wanted a straight razor shave but not in the mood to strop a razor, so loaded up my Tadalus with a Feather Pro and had an excellent shave. Some vintage Pierre Cardan heavily sprayed, the vintage juice is amazing. After Monday I decided to make this week a Shave Den brush week. Tuesday a 6/8 Hart Steel blade finishing with a classic Vetiver. Wednesday was a busy so my Asylum Rx for a quick shave, followed with Creed Himalaya for a warm day. The last two days with a special watch, A MKII Nassau 'red dot', rarer than hens teath and this is a tough to find... but thanks to a good friend this beauty found it's way on to my wrist. The donut of death has appeared. I think at least two weeks left to finish the XXX.
Thursday, October 2 ETHOS Rosa~~Black Eagle HT1~~Wolfman WR1 Ti/Rapira~~D.R. Harris Pink AS Mr. Scruffy, here. Man, did I ever need to shave! So, I shaved. Good shave, to boot.
Friday, October 3 Macduffs Alberta Boys~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Wolfman WR2/Rapira~~One Million Privé Two shaves in a row! The Macduffs' scent is one of my favorites.
Thursday was an old school shave, Wade and Butcher, boar brush and finished off with vintage Old Spice. Friday was a modern version with 7/8 Hart Steel 3/4 grind blade and finished off with Creed Neroli Sauvage. The watch is a British brand, Fears, featuring a jumping hour function.
Saturday, October 4 Fine Green Vetiver~~Hoffritz 19mm~~Wolfman WR2/Rapira~~Montale Aoud Ever The Fine Green Vetiver is an homage to Guerlain Vetiver. Most wet-shavers are familiar with the tallow Fine soaps. They are (were) stupendous. Nicked my chin with the Wolfie. User error. Picked up this stank not too long ago. And while Oud (Aoud) is in the name, it's really more of a vetiver stank. Hard to find, but for true "Fragheads" @Keithmax it's worth searching out.
Sunday, October 5 Fine Lavender Pour Homme~~Simpson D3 SiLVERTiP~~1941 Gillette Ranger Tech/Rapira~~Vintage Guerlain Jicky Oh, what a shave! The Fine Lavender is a dupe of Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge. I used to have then AS splash, but gave it to my son-in-law. The OG Super-Speed was loaded with a thrice-used Rapira. Finished with 5 glorious sprays of Sean Connery's favorite stank.
On the survey, "None of the above" has made a serious move to try to overtake "All of the above". This could be interesting.
