Today's shave was a 10/10 as I felt the shave was not 100% but still using dial 4 for the whole shave. It was toaday shave 1 on the bottom, 19 in total with the Personna 100 pack made in USA I bought in late 2017. I used as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case. I shaved after the shower, so I did not need to use any of the shave soap I made from a small hotel lotion and soap/conditioner in the bottle nor any soap of any kind. I did keep the blade wet as needed, face like usual with after shower shave did not need to be kept wet. The blade was smoother because this bottom side got stropped more due to not having the blade all the way into the Twin Stropper during that stropping with the first 10--12 turns of the handle.
A change in plans with this unseasonable warm weather: prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash in shower lather-Unscented from West Main brush-Campbell's Badger(1939) razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-Osage Rub Still getting used to the badger brush...I'm glad of the choice I made(Campbell). A minute at the Loading Dock with it. A better shave today than yesterday, as I went with the "North to South" plan up at North Porcupine. Probably the direction most shavers use anyway. Clean, clear shave across the board. No damage. I'm well used to the cold sensation brought on by Osage Rub. As Outstanding As It Gets. .
In the USA the model was known as the New Improved Bostonian, Gillette even had a ladies version called the Milady that simply had a longer handle with the same top parts, almost all the models in this era including the original Aristocrat were the same top parts. Amazing you only needed 2 passes I have to almost always after the blade is very lightly dulled in do 3 passes over each spot.
October 5 SOTM Good Evening MicroTouch TTO Gillete 7 o'clock Permasharp DE Blade (2) JR #290 Cashmere Brush TSD Orange SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Lucky Witch Hazel Beard Growth: 3 Days It is a late post for this morning's shave. Looking like a hobo, I definitely needed a shave. Looking back at my records, I haven’t used my MicroTouch since last Oct 14. So, I decided to use it. I only needed2 passes with some buffing for an ultra smooth and comfortable shave without any bleeding. I think that I gave to the blood bank from my last shave so I didn't need to experience it again. Lol! Did a face lather by loading the brush off the puck. It gave me a nice, creamy and slick lather. The soap needs plenty of water to get the consistency that I want. I am almost finished with this tub. I had 3 tubs of TSD soaps and my only complaint is that the scents are very light. If I decide to get another TSD tub, then it would be unscented. Anyway, the alum feedback was present, but it wasn't painful. Splashed on Lucky Witch Hazel and the AQ Blue Ice aftershave to end this shave. Take care.
i do the same shave every time, sometimes more touch ups than others.depending on the razor ,but, gillettes are just gillettes.. gillette made the NE bostonian and the new LC and SC version in the 1930's
