    Razor: Atelier Durdan Horizon
Blade: Schick B-20 Proline Artist Club (SE), 1st use
    Brush: TurningZ by TanZ EVB
    Bowl: CaYuen Workshop Diablo Bowl
Soap: Macduffs Soap Co. Hallowed Sky Cream
Aftershave: Macduffs Soap Co. Hallowed Sky Aftershave
    Additional Care: Osma Alum
Additional Care: Thayers Facial Toner: Rose Petal

Today’s shave was with the Atelier Durdan Horizon, which I have from a passaround on DFS and with Macduffs.

The Horizon comes with much fanfare. As is expected for an adjustable AC razor. I love SE shaves myself so I was one of those excited. I started off with a Schick Proline as it’s my go to AC blade. I figured I’d start at 3 just shy of half way on the adjustability. When putting the razor to my face the size of the head, quite large, seemed like it would be an issue. Surprisingly enough the size did not pose an issue. What did for me was the weight of the head. It’s not as if the entire razor is heavy but while not a deal breaker I didn’t like the balance of the razor being very top heavy. I completed the first pass with noticeable stubble left here and there. One thing was I was able to easily get under my nose even with the size of the head due to the geometry of AC heads - no issue at all. For the next pass I dialed it up to a 5. This pass was smooth, efficient, and easy. After that second pass I had a DFS. I did a third pass and a clean up. And got a very nice shave.
The razor has the smoothness I expect from Durdan and the adjustability is very nice to se being brought to an AC razor. Especially in such a way. Very cool. I do have issue with the weight and balance (size of the head is huge but functionally not an issue) of the razor. But I’ve been on a light razor kick lately and overall the razor isn’t in the heavy tier. Next shave I will kick it up with the Prolines and see how it goes.

Macduffs Hallowed Sky is another banger from them. I smell amazingly seasonal. I could use nothing but Macduffs from here until the other side and I’d be just fine. Sean is a master of scents! And one of the best bases I use.

Have a great week everyone! Enjoy your shaves!

    Same again

Day 5 of the Iridiium Wizamet

Still nice and crisp, maybe needing a few more strokes

Still, a decent 2 pass shave with some touch ups

Small nick midline chin needing some and alum stick. Too aggressive on the East-West stroke, mea culpa

    Usual after shave treatment

The Williams Mug Shave Soap was face-lathered well with the SlimGEM Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A1 Razor and the Modified Personna GEM Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Aqua Velva 5 in 1 Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Wednesday morning’s joy:

Long shower with Tabac bath soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 4
    Tabac Shaving Stick
    Lubriderm Moisturizer
    Tabac Deodorant Spray
    Tabac AS Splash
    Tabac Cologne

There’s not too much for me to say - the Tabac stuff is such a delight and I find that I’m using more often than I ever did. The stick I used this morning is quite old but it still has the beautiful Tabac scent, the great lather as well as the soothing postshave feeling. The Lubriderm moisturizer worked its magic, and the Tabac deodorant followed by the aftershave and cologne were such a pleasurable finish. Three passes gave me a dynamite BBS shave that I enjoyed from start to finish!

Have a nice day - be well and stay safe![IMG]
