Thursday Afternoon 09/10/2025 15th Wedding Anniversary Shave. Razor : Gillette Aristocrat (15) OC DE Rhodium Plated Brass Circa 1930s (England) Blade : Wizamet Super Iridium Stainless (1). (Russia) Brush : Yaqi Caramel Cats Whiskers Synthetic . (China) Soap : Razorock Nomad Shaving Soap . (Italy) Aftershave : Genuine Ogallala bay rum and Sweet Orange. (USA) Weight : 73 grams. (Razor) Hi all, I had a very special shave today to celebrate the wedding anniversary of my lovely wife and I. Like all couples it hasn’t always been smooth sailing at the very lest the good times have far outweighed the bad times. In my case “I first had to slay the dragon to get the Princess”. Or you could say I’ve got it right second time round. The Gillette aristocrat 15 is as far as I know the first TTO aristocrat the first model being the 24k gold plated Christmas special that was available Christmas 1934 only. The efficiency of the 15 is in my opinion the best of the Aristocrat's that I have used I’m sure that’s partly because of the open comb. I'm not saying it’s the most efficient Gillette out there but it is a nice smooth close shave which paired up well with the wizamet blade. Also in my opinion, like most of the vintage razors it can’t compare in efficiency and smoothness to more than a few of the modern offerings. In saying that I like so many of us I really love the vintage Gillette razors. The vision and craftsmanship of a few has given so much enjoyment and of course great shaves to so many. The Razorock Nomad soap has a great scent with a thick lather and good cushioning and a nice aftershave feel. Finished off nicely with Genuine Ogallala bay rum and Sweet Orange aftershave splash definitely my favourite line of bay rum aftershaves. 1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG with a couple of touch ups done. No, nicks no worries. Cheers.
WOW! What a great couple! Oh, that razor is pretty cool too. Happy Anniversary Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk

Thursday's Cold Water Shave Cold Water Rinse VanDer Hagen Luxury Shave Soap SlimGEM Silvertip Badger Gem MMOC Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade CWR Humphrey's Witch Hazel Aqua Velva 5 in 1 Balm The VanDer Hagen Luxury Shave Soap was face-lathered well with the SlimGEM Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem MMOC Razor and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Aqua Velva 5 in 1 Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Thursday morning: Long warm shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 5 PAA Cold Spices SS Lubriderm Moisturizer PAA Cold Spices AS Splash The only reason I use this Cold Spices stuff is because it was given to me as a birthday gift by a very good friend of mine in New York City, otherwise I would never touch it - it doesn’t give me any satisfaction at all. Yes, the scent is very close to the Shulton Old Spice but this stuff shouldn’t have any menthol in it because it has a negative effect on the scent. The soap delivers very good lather but it’s so thirsty and it’s not that great skincare wise. The Lubriderm moisturizer gave me lots of soothing, and at first the Cold Spices aftershave smelled fantastic but then the menthol sensation took hold and started spoiling the scent. These Perma Sharp blades are pretty damned good I must say - this one helped me get a brilliant BBS shave so all was not lost! Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe! Are all Wilkinson Sword shave soaps of the sensative persuasion, or are there some normal-skin ones too?

Did I just get lucky? or did amazon misprint the ingredients? because I just checked amazon for Tabac shave soap and its listed on their site and one of the ingredients is Tallowate! I am receiving a shave stick from the razor emporium any day now with the current formulation of the Tabac soap with the vegetables but what I was looking for was the one with the tallow and did I just find it? on amazon? it must be too good to be true, right? but I’ll get it and report back. if one does have tallow and the other doesn't I’ll try to do a comparison as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GHYXG4/?tag=thshde-20 Ingredients Potassium Stearate, Sodium Stearate, Potassium Tallowate, Potassium Cocoate, Aqua, Sodium Tallowate, Parfum, Sodium Cocoate, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Sodium Hydroxide, CI 77891, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool, Citronellol, Coumarin, AlphaIsomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Isoeugenol, Benzyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol hmmm, or not, maybe I wont pull the trigger and just use the 10$ tabac vegetable stick and not risk disappointment with the 27 dollar amazon purchase based on this review… <<1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase This is not the version with sebum Reviewed in Poland on December 5, 2023 Despite the description and photos with Sodium Tallowate in the composition, a vegan version is sent.>>
