Here my Shave of the Day (19.11.2025)

Chicago Baby I `ve never been there but I LOVE Chicago. Legendary Michael Jordan with the Dynasty Bulls, Marina City, the green colored river on St. Patrick´s Day, Al Capone…So what could be better to use a Razor and the Soap / Aftershave which comes from Chi-Town. Exactly…almost nothing.

The shave was absolutely awesome. 2 passes and BOOOOOM…BBS at it´s best.

The Aftershave has quite a different scent than the soap, it has (for my nose) a wonderful mix of Bay Rum, typical Barbershop scent and light notes of Gun powder. Just a light tingling and after that…nothing but great skincare and scent.

A 10 out of 10

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream.
Blade: DERBY USTA. (D4)
Razor: Parker 55SL Semi-Slant.

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+ Witch Hazel./ Benjamins Mentholated Bay Rum. / L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

I'm really impressed on how the DERBY USTA blade has performed throughout the week.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.

I am getting excellent shaves this week with Tom's Tourqued Razor with little or no touch ups needed. The Arko Shaving Stick was face-lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Silvertp Brush. Two Passes and no touch ups with the Tourqued Slant Razor by Tom and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Clubman Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This VGH stuff is the oldest in the world - believe it or not it’s been around for over 450 years so I’d say the company is doing something right. The scent is absolutely beautiful, the soap is a pleasure to lather, it’s pretty slick, and it’s gentle on sensitive skin. The matching balm is very soothing as well as moisturizing and it’s slightly mentholated. The VGH aftershave spray was discontinued a long time ago but I still have this bottle after so many years - do I ever love the scent - it’s very long lasting. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was lots of fun!
