Thanks Joe, technique is coming along nicely after nearly 3 years Thanks John, yes and a confident approach helps too, but that comes with time and muscle memory That's a fun looking brush, I am afraid it would disappear in my shave bowl, but would be good for face lathering as you have said, and maybe a travel set up too.
I brought the brush purely for travel purposes and occasional home use. It's excellent for face and head lathering too.
Todays shave was a 9/10 as I used dial 1 with a bunch of micro cuts that only stopped in the shower and was basically a BBS shave. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 1 topside/total. I do flip the blade over around 16 and do flipped side then total overall. I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case. I shaved before shower but I did not use anything on face other than water however, I kept the blade wet as needed. I did need to do like most days since late 2017 a partial clean opening up the shaver in middle of shave to keep going before the final clean at the end, only the final clean well not really this way as I did have to go do 2 parts I missed after the shower doing the last bit of cleanup of shaver & blade after the first cleanup.
Yes, the new blade is probably why I had a few of the hairs I after the shower can't see the cuts on were actually hairs ripped out, the one on neck was a cut as was one on the chin where both cuts are the type you can barely see but they are there. I went too aggressive and probably should have went lighter on dial 2 to get almost the same shave with less risk. The blade was due to being from Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, not nearly as consistent as the Personna USA 100 pack from early 2025 partly due to the seller I used in 2017. The Seller from 2017 on Amazon is now selling more off in factory quality control blades where I do not want to buy them from the seller but a different one and at the time in April the blades were hard to buy
24 Nov 2025 2 Days growth Cream/Soap = Cella Brush = Setola boar Bowl = white Razor = Lo Storto Blade = Astra Day 6 and starting to drag, begging to be binned Passes = 2 and done Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal ASL = Cella Scent = Prada Ocean Luna Rossa Parfum Another damage free shave, although I must say the Astra on Day 6 was starting to show its age: more strokes per area were needed which is always a sign the blade is fading and one runs the risk of going over each area too often which leads to damage. Nevertheless I seldom get 6 good shave per blade, so thumbs up for the St Petersburg factory Have a great day one and all
Today's shave(11-24)was nice. A minute at the Loading Dock to prepare for what was a clean, soft shave across the board. No damage. 2 healthy passes. I do like this Suave unscented soap, but probably won't buy again, as there are others I'd like to try(including one I just ordered-see What Are You Waiting For, or whatever that thread is called). Nice finish from JFK's favorite aftershave from Caswell Masssey(Jockey Club). About that aftershave, I learned that the more you shake it, the more comes out). We're almost taking Niagra Falls here(Aqua Velva), but it isn't that powerful. Anyway, Supeer Duper Outstanding.

Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger cologne. No shave weekend but I needed a good one this morning. Three smooth passes and off to work. Take care everyone.
