I was looking to pick up a good brush for soap and was considering the Kent BK2 or the Kent H4 (the BK4 is a little more than I want to shell out). Unfortunately, I did not see any reviews of either the Bk2 or H4. Can anyone on the forum share their experiences with either of these brushes. I am also open to other suggestions for a good soap brush for under $50.
You can get a BK4 from Auravita for $50 + shipping. It's 39 pounds at the website, but that's before you take out the 15% VAT, so it ends up being around 34 pounds, which converts to about $50. It's hard to make us behave here, when you ask us to stick to a price limit. :happy102 Unfortunately, I'm no different; but, if you truly can stretch a few dollars (it shouldn't be more than $60 or so including shipping), the BK4 is in range. I got mine from Auravita, btw, and other than them taking a couple extra days to process my order, I have only good things to say. All the tales of its magical abilties to work with soap are true. Fantastic brush!
I was not sure what the VAT was and assumed that I'd be paying the extra 15%. If I can get the BK4 for $60.00 delivered, I'm all over it.
Wow...I was going ot say "Yes, you can" but I just checked the sites I looked at a month ago and they've all raised their prices about 10 pounds... Hmmm... Also, the was it worked for me was the VAT was almost equal to the shipping charge, so the listed price including VAT was usually (not always!) a good indicator of final charges when shopping from the UK.
I will say the BK4 is a nice brush but I usually only use it with creams. It works with soaps but doesnt have alot of backbone. Like I said.....its a very nice brush but I wouldnt say its the best universal brush if thats what you are looking for. Also....so find the handle awkward but I like it. I sanding the smooth part to get a better grip for it.
