Lol! Thanks Joe, it's a good strategy, but thankfully in the New Year I will be able to chop and change my setups again. Nice shaves Joe. It's a good idea to have the MWF in a sealed container. Mine is in the (porcelain?) container, but I don't think thats' good because it dries out rather fast. Which is why I have that in a ziplock bag. Should have done the tight container thing from the start. I will give the MWF another chance (again) in 2026.

Greetings, A relaxing Winter solstice morning shave. The Pearlman Shaver's spirit soap is a excellent shaving soap... It's very slick, protective with a fresh mild masculine fragrance which lingers throughout the shave and beyond creating a wonderful lather in a short space of time leaving a excellent post shave feel. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB. My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. Stay safe, and enjoy the winter solstice ladies & gentlemen.
That’s great, Joe can I ask what your username is? It’s nice to have old friends especially on a new forum Merry Christmas to you mate and a happy New Year Paul
My puck is in my shave mug and it is doing well. Yes, there are cracks, but it doesn't affect the lather.
December 21 SOTA Head and Face Shave Good afternoon. Rockwell Model T v1 (Setting 5) SuperMax Blue Diamond DE Blade (2) Dorco ST 300 DE Blade (fresh) Rockwell Synthetic Brush TSD Orange SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Lucky Witch Hazel Beard Growth: 2 days Dome Turf: 6 days I definitely needed a head and face shave this afternoon. Did 2 passes on the dome and face for a BBS result. Unfortunately, did get a nick on my left temple. It's funny, but I usually get the rare nick on the back of me head and not the temple. Anyway, the alum block took care of it. Did get some feedback on the dome and very little on the face and neck. The Shave Den soap gave me an awesome, creamy and slick lather. Here it is below: Finished with splashing of the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. Take care.
And of course Merry Christmas And a happy New Year to you all On the 30 day rule/focus thread And a special thanks to you Joe a.k.a. trigger for this thread. I really loved it. It was the reason I stayed on shave den Hope we can do a similar thing on another forum in the future Cheers to you all.
They were great, I went to a local microbrew place only open Friday and Saturday for a bar that my brother helps at that he had to play the bartender as the main who owns the business was gone for the day due to holiday events. All the regular people showed up who I was hoping would. I met a new person who only shows up on Saturdays but might start showing up, he barely avoided the USA Vietnam in early 1970's due to smart choices. My family got food from a place in the two towns well the town across the river then ate that early before everyone fully showed up.
12-21-2022 Today's shave was a 10/10 as I used dial 5 the whole time getting a nearly a BBS shave, the next level up. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 1 bottom side/15 total. I do flip the blade over around 14--16 and count the flipped side amount with also a total overall. I do feel this blade is going to die sooner because I am skipping a day or sometimes more between the shaves. I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era shaver, my model without the case. I shaved after the shower, so I did not use water on my face due to skipping a day. I did keep the blade/head of shaver wet. I did need to do 1 partial clean in middle of the shave and did a final full clean at the end of the shave where part of this was in a shower to make it easy.
Monday December 22 (very early morning) - Do Whatever You Want December Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil and 20% bay laurel oil soap (traditional anti-acne); followed by ice cold water pre-shave face rinse Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Supply White Label (house-branded Personna)(7) Soap: TOBS Lavender shave cream (croap) Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 Synthetic Lather Bowl: None Post: rinse, alum, rinse Last shave: Monday December 15 (early morning) - 7 days ago The setup (except at the last minute I decided not to use the TSD After Shave Milk): After warming up last Monday, our balmy -10C temperature lasted one whole whopping day and then nose-dived again. For the last week, it has ranged between -20 and -30C with wind. Despite that, I decided it was time to be cleanshaven again. As planned, I am repeating my setup throughout this month. With one exception today -- no post-shave splash or balm. Overall, I got the same excellent result as for my last few shaves. Two passes of the razor had me back from a one week scruffy short beard to cleanshaven. First pass was WTG everywhere and second pass was XTG on the face and ATG on the neck. Once again, I paid special attention to skin stretching, especially on my neck. The result was a very smooth DFS shave result with no nicks, blood spots or razorburn. The alum was completely silent at the end. Hope the coming holiday week treats everyone well! At least, better than this guy!:
Thanks Paul. All the best to you and yours over Festive Season Good to know Joe, enjoy! That would be cool.
Happy Birthday Casey. Nahh, you are still a spring chicken compared to us seniors. Keep on enjoying your shaves.
Great shave John, DFS is what it is all about. Do you even go out at that temperature. I knew a guy once who worked Canada for a while, a running addict/marathon runner/fitness type, who said he would go jogging/running in those kind of temperatures. Didn't know what to say to him, because I don't think I have been less than -5C, and that's plenty cold.
